  1. You do NOT have to remove the safety detent if your are just replacing the hammer and spring. And do NOT have to remove the trigger either. Just done this tonight….

  2. I like these videos. Midway's too. Between this guy and Larry they sure cover a heck of a lot of ground. Larry smiles more but content, production value and general helpfulness are A+ all around. Thanks.

  3. Don't forget to add lube – always add lube. Lube is great. I recommend adding lube. Also, don't forget to put some gun oil on the trigger group, safety, and detent.

  4. Dear Brownells. Subject :NEA 15 .223 Trigger malfunction. Dear madam or sir, I have bought a Brand new NEA 15 .223.
I have shot 30 rounds ( Barnaul .223 55gr FMJ). Example: I put 3 round in the magazine. I pull the trigger once.
The rifle shoots 2 rounds (Automatic). When i pull the bold back, the 3rd cartrige jumps out of the rifle and the primer has a dent on it, but was not firing. Semi automatic shooting does not working. The problem is repeating again and again and again. Question? What is the problem ? Kind regards Hay Berden

  5. Thank you Brownells so much! My new DPMS Oracle has a decent (yet very heavy – 10-11lbs) trigger pull, yet it has been progressively feeling like it has a sticky speed bump ever since I've been breaking it in and dry firing it. I watched this video a few times and took my hammer out & lightly polished the main contact surface in the crevice where the trigger touches before the trigger breaks. I also lightly polished the front and top of the trigger contact surfaces where it breaks with the hammer. I used flitz and a light polishing stone. My DPMS trigger pull feels completely smooth now. Thank you so much!! Next I will install a JP yellow spring kit. 10-11lb trigger pull is not nomal in my opinion.
One question – I skipped removing the safety selector, and I had a hard time removing the trigger. Is that because the safety selector was in the way? Also, It was pretty hard holding the hammer down to get it pinned back in my lower. Is there a way to make this easier? Any tips? I did pin it in place with a punch, but it just seemed so heavy of spring tension. Perhaps the JP yellow springs will help. Thank you Brownells!
