  1. I collect & shoot vintage rifles, including vintage air rifles. Case in point; the Crosman model 70 Pellgun Co2 rifle. Rare and highly sought after, this line starts at $200 on up to as much as $375. And I have to say, I now know it's most copied from the model 70 ranger. No checkering, planer wood, etc. But it's light, well balanced and about the same size as the one you show in this video! With many features closely copied from the rifle that is basically an improved K98 Mauser. Albeit a base model, as I now know thanks to your video. The trigger pull is ridiculously firm though. No first stage at all! Gotta fix that. And I'd really love to get my hands on a model 70 Standard in .220 Swift. I saw John Jobson of Sports Afield in the 60's burst a gelatin block with a .220 Swift. Or maybe even a .270? Anyway, thanks for the video!

  2. I have a Rare Ranger it's a open sight Featherweight so the barrel contour is tapered. With reloads got down to under 1 moa at 100 yards in a three shot group. Using imr 4350 and Barnes 150 grain triple shock. It has one deer under its belt was a 120 yard uphill shot to the neck/throat didn't even take one step just fell over after 2 seconds or so.

  3. That's an excellent rifle. I own 10+ bolt action rifles, including the CRF Winchesters, FN-produced Winchesters, even original Mausers, and the bolt action I've killed the most deer with is my M70 Ranger 30-06. I used hand-loaded 150gr Barnes TTSX, and the rifle is REALLY accurate. I used a Nikon Buckmaster on it for a while, but currently use a Weaver. It's not any better, just went with the 50mm objective as I do all my hunting in the late afternoons. Good video. And forget the guy obsessing over your damn hair.

  4. Winchester 70's are great rifles, regardless of vintage (pre-64, post-64, or the current FN) or caliber selection. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion about what rifle is their personal favorite and mine is the Winchester Model 70, period!

  5. Got a brand new sporter mod 70 chambered in 300wsm I also bought a Nikon monarch 3 2.5 ×10 with the bullet drop compensator it took awhile but finally found bullet rifle combo that shot sub moa. 150grn win supreme ballistic tip at 3300fps shot a big Ga 8 pt 456 yds across soybean field longest shot I have ever made killed 6 more with it this year from 50yds to 300 mostly. I downloaded nikons bullet ballistic table for my round and taped it to stock. That way I can lazer deer or coyotes then look at the cheat sheet I laminated and taped to stock. Only regret I wish I would have spent another 100$ on a zeis z600 scope cause there is no beating a zeis scope at low light.
