Everyone asks where I find AR-15 stuff in stock or where I order from, so here you are:
Using the BRD Engineering Gas Block Dimple Jig, dimpling your AR-15 barrel has never been easier. I show exactly how to do it in this video.

Nice job .
which model jig is this
Gear Queers?
This is the most ridiculous procedure I have ever heard. Why would anyone buy this shit?
What color thread lock did you use the screws? 🐢🇺🇸🐢🇺🇸🐢🇺🇸
the offset of the gas block to the barrel shoulder can be found easily by using the old spacer from the old standard "glacier guards" slip the spacer on the barrel then the jig then drill.
How much$?
Just had to RMA an Aero precision barrel, was reading on their form how alterations void warranties. Think a single dimple would be considered such an alteration? They have to expect people to dimple their barrels right?
dumb question – why don't manufacturers already dimple the barrel from the factory? and does one really need to dimple it (because manufacturers don't do that)?
Also i can not believe your promoting BRD Engineering Do you see his prices? they have like what $4-5.00 into making that tool & sell it for $90.00!!!??!?!?
Yea make sure you use that cutting oil to drill that deep wouldnt wanna get that drill bit to hot 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
Can I send you my upper to do some work on? Your work is very thorough and professional looking.
would it be easier to mig weld the gas block instead of pinning the dimpling is eaasy
There is a cheaper much simpler tool out there. Also, you only need to dimple one hole.
I don't understand. No matter how hard I push into the barrel I can't get the drill to bite at all.
Interested in this tool. I am building a Ar pistol with a Rosco Barrel (10.5 inch barrel) Rosco placed one dimple on the barrel in alignment with the gas port (which is good) My rail is the Geisselle MK8 (9.5 inch) Might pick up this part so I could place a 2nd dimple on the barrel. I might not pin it, don't know yet. Great informative video.
how much time u needed to drill your barrel ??
nsz85, is that a melonited barrel? Or do you know if this would work on a melonited barrel?
I know this is a "dated" video, but it's still solid information. If a person does any gas block upgrading/replacement, that jig is an invaluable tool to have on a bench. Paying $40.00 for that little guide far outweighs the cost of messing up a barrel, or having gas problems later on. Great/informative video.
thanx
Very nice
More toys…..I meant tools awesome vid Way much easier than the last way I dimpled my barrel.
Getting ready for a build using Battle Arms Development LW 16" barrel and .625 gas block. Will this jig work for that combination?
Have you noticed any accuracy issues after pinning the gas block? I've noticed there's a loss in accuracy so I only dimple and loctite set-screws now and I've NEVER had a gas block loosen up even on barrels that get heavy suppressed use…Might be something to think about. This is why no premium precision AR barrels are ever pinned. Here's another one for you, why does some of the premium barrel manufacturers like Battle Arms, Northtech, WOA, Rock Creek, Wilson Combat etc only dimple for one set screw? Because it further reduces harmonic inconsistency. That's why they can offer a 1 moa guarantee. Also JP doesn't dimple at all, they just go clamp on. Another one to think about.
great tutorial
Man I was excited to see something like this. Unfortunately my gas block is .500 center to center. Bummer. 🙁
Thanks for making this video. I just bought this on sale from Brownells for $54.99. I also got $10 off + Free Shipping for spending $99+ and using code L9S.
You only need to dimple the one nearest the gas port. In fact, dimpling the other one could screw up alignment.
Thanks for this demonstration vid the firearm community truly appreciates guys like you.
Excellent vid and product. I pick up my first 308 lower/upper set in seven days from Kalifornia gun jail and I will definitely use this jig on the barrel.
Almost takes all fear away.
Awesome! thanks
I have both jigs. Great additions to the toolbox.
Thanks for your video. I have a BCM gas block. You mentioned the gas blocks that the jig fits but I couldn't catch the center to center measurement.
rocksett, loctite,or just tighten the set screws?
