Tomorrow, the Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to vote on an important bill that would clarify Arkansas’ current self-defense law, Senate Bill 484.  Please contact committee members and strongly urge them to SUPPORT Senate Bill 484 when it comes up for a vote.

Senate Bill 484, sponsored by Senator Bob Ballinger and Representative Aaron Pilkington, would remove the ambiguous and confusing language in Arkansas’ current duty to retreat statute. Further, this legislation will explicitly state that law-abiding citizens do not have the duty to retreat when exercising their right to self-defense.

Again, please contact members of the Senate Judiciary Committee and urge them to SUPPORT Senate Bill 484 when it comes up for a vote.
