@05MagnumSXT cool hope you enjoy your 517. mine also looks a little pixelated or blurry at the higher settings. i think your right to use the lowest setting possible.
that ruger is sweet bill
if you do get an eotech get one with the power buttons on the side. mine are on the rear and are hard to get to as the rear sight is in the way.

i would recommend you get the one that has the power buttons on the side. mine has them on the rear and they are hard to use because my back up rear sight gets in the way…
i do like the fact that it uses the aa battery which is easy to find
