  1. You claim that the Primary Arms has durability yet you provide no empirical data to support your opinion. What you claim to be fact is in reality just your opinion. I caution anyone to take your word at face value when you claim that you are sacrificing durability with the Holusun red dot in place of the PA scope. I have a $25 red optic scope that I purchased after seeing a review on 704 Tactical and it’s still holding strong compared to the Aimpro PRO. The FieldSport Micro Red Dot is what I consider a real budget scope.

  2. Budget do it all optic is impossible.
Even a high end do it all optic is impossible.
Something like a high end LPVO or Elcan Specterdr are as close as we can get and they can’t do it all.

  3. Don't use magnifiers on prism scopes. Not only would be difficult to get them sighted in where the point of aim works properly with the magnifier, the diopter adjustment won't work properly either.

For those who are unfamiliar with prism Scopes the diopter adjustment is how you adjust the focus of the reticle to your eyesight. If you throw a magnifier behind a prism scope you're going to have to adjust the diopter on both the prism scope and the magnifier so that they match. But as soon as you move the magnifier off of the prism scope the diopter adjustment on the prism scope will most likely be blurry to your eyesight.

Personally I have a vortex Spitfire 1X prism scope on my CZ scorpion. An my girlfriend has a vortex strikefire 2 with a magnifier on her ar15. One day out of sheer boredom I actually tried pairing the spitfire with the magnifier. I the diopter was an issue for most people's eyesight but I figured mine was eyesight was so weird that maybe it will work out. Nope. It was just a bad idea all around.

You're better off sticking with a fixed 3 power or a low-power variable optic.

If you want to use a magnifier use a red dot or holographic sight.

  4. >extremely affordable
    >$240
    Pick one

Extremely affordable is like less then $100, sure the optic at $240 may be worth it, but that doesn't make it extremely affordable. I would wager most people looking for "budget" optics are looking at values less then $150, starting out at $240 and later the lowest at ~$220 just feels out of touch.

  5. yea but it got a limited life time warranty. i got two vortex cross fire 2 1-4 and the strike eagle 1-6 i want the strike eagle 1-8 next and i been doing very good with them so far unconditional warranty

  6. High quality scope and cost for poor boy budget. My buddy saw thw scope he has a Zeiss scope 1200 to 1500 bucks aint nothing to him. when he held my scope he said damn thats so clear it may be better thatn mine no stroke.so you paid what 1200 or more? Nope! 129 bucks on eBay. ZOS 10×40 50mm milldot illuminated. Spotting scope on your rifle that works very nice aim small miss small.

  7. Thanks for the video! I’m looking for one now for my first AR. I have an ACOG on a different rifle and love the ACSS reticle in it. But for my AR (which is a cheap AR) I just want something good but not really expensive. I like your choices and your thoughts of why the 1×6. But, I am curious. Why did you go with the 2nd focal plane instead of a 1st focal plane? Like your paint jobs too I saw that bolt action in the back. Did you just spray paint them?

  8. Rule of thumb.
If you own a piece of crap home built $300 rifle dont expect any optic to improve the thing.
And why spend pennies on something youd rely on for your or your family's survival?!?!?

    Buy decent gear!
Where is that primary arms optic made?
    CHINA!

    BUY AMERICAN!

    QUIT BEING CHEAP ASSES!

  9. Highly recommend an etched reticle. I can't tell you how many times it was too cold for batteries to work or batteries died or it was too bright out and the only way to see the reticle was to turn it off and use the etching.

  10. I think alot of people should do their homework on optics and the differences between prizmatic, holographic, compact reflex, and tubular reflex optics. If they did this, they would get the right option for their needs and budget. And while a budget optic may work for some, others it will not. You sacrifice some things with a budget optic. There is no question about that. An Eotech optic is expensive for several reasons. One of which is that they are the only one who makes holographic optics. And holographic optics offer several advantages that prizmatic, tubular reflex, and compact reflex optics don't.

  11. I spit out my ramen after the price of the first optic lol. I built my 556 AR for $250 not including the pistol brace, and I think my "airsoft" RDS was like $12. pokes holes in paper at the range reliably all day long. definitely understand why you wouldn't "recommend" that to people, but it was definitely funny to hear the first budget recommendation be more expensive than my gun

  12. Hi, enjoyed your video! I'm getting a BCM RECCE – 16 and will most likely purchase this Primary Arms 1-6X24mm SFP Riflescope. What kind of mount do you have on yours? I trust your judgement. Thanks!

  13. Interesting video. This pretty much confirms what I’ve been thinking about for a long time now. Currently all my shooting budget goes to USPSA, but I’ve been interested in ARs for a long time. Hopefully I’ll get one this year. Ive I’ve enjoyed learning about and shopping for rifles and optics for a while now and these are exactly the three I come back to the most. My eyes are kind of old and goofy, so I think the two Primary Arms options may be better because they’ll allow me to adjust the focus. Like you said, I could always get the prism scope and add a multiplier. I think I’ll just get a good lower to mid range AR with the 1-6, although I have shot a few rounds with a red dot and didn’t seem to have any trouble. I’d also like to have a really low cost AR with the Holosun to have around the house. Maybe even a PSA AR pistol. I think it would be easy for my wife and daughter to be successful with this setup. Just pick up the gun and the red dot comes on automatically. Flip off the safety and it’s ready to fire. They’ll be nailing 50yd targets with their first mag.

  14. The Leupold 4-12*40 VX-1 Duplex reticle is on sale for $200 at Gander(usually $275) they also have the Nikon P-223 3-9*42 BDC for $135(usually at $200), those were nice choices as well especially like that Primary Arms one you did in camo to match your rifle, that definitely tells me you're happy with it and that you trust it, nice video!

  15. I was really looking for some nice insight here on what kind of new optic I should get for my next rifle build.

Except your number one recommendation is what I already had. Thanks for having good taste but damn get a brotha get some help? Lmfao
