A friend of mine has two eotech models, both cr123-fed, one side buttons, and one with rear buttons. They sit off in the safe. We'll go shoot, then store them with lights once again off. Invariably, the batteries will croak on the next trip to the range. 5 hours run time'ish, tops

every optic fails even aimpoints, sucks this happened to you.
Mine died a half dozen times in multiple ways. The last time it was out of warranty and they replaced all the guts free of charge. When they did the buyback, I asked if they would take mine back because I could not trust it for its marketed purpose. I told them I paid $425 and did not have a receipt. I shipped it in and got a full refund in about 5-6wks. I'm not a fan of the product, but the customer service was on point.
You didn’t learn from the military?
All optics experience thermal drift but that's pretty horrendous
