  1. I have a Savage 1899 and an Enfield 303. I am going to be hunting warthogs in Africa what do you recommend for a beginner like me. I'm totally new to guns. Also do red dots and scope universally fit on rifles? If not what type do I need for my guns? Thanks

  2. If you need a sight in your house, you're dead! Point and shoot to be effective and expeditious. I use an 1-4 bushnell 223 on my ar. it does have a flashlight/laser.. Effective from zero to 150 yards. You seem to suggest that 2 ar rifles are necessary and yet I put my faith in a bedside 45 acp and one ar for distance.

  3. People who use a red dot for home defense can purchase a separate 3x magnifier to put behind it to provide greater range (i.e. to use it outdoors). These magnifiers provide a lot of flexibility, especially if you already have a red dot set up on your rifle. Vortex make a great 3x magnifier for about $169-189.

Be aware that the eye relief is not great with the external 3x magnifiers, consequently they work better on rifles with collapsible stocks.

  4. I am in bit of a doubt between a red dot and a 3x vortex spitfire. I will shoot at a gun range of 100m (110 yards).
On the other hand I would like to have my gun ready for the worst case scenario. I have read that in wars most battles are between 50-60 yards. So for that kind of scenario should I get a red dot or 3x scope?
    Thank you.
