Here is a look at the new TLR-1 HL from streamlight. They are claiming 630 lumens on this light… Watch me compare it with the original TLR-1s, TLR-2, and TLR-3 weapon lights.
This light uses the same (2) CR123 batteries and has a estimated run time 1.25 hours.

The TLR 1-HL models are now available from Midwayusa.com for about $130.Â
to people questioning heat, if you use it in quick bursts as a self/home defense light, you will probably never notice it. this thing wasn't intended to be left on for hours on end.
Awesome vid man. Bought the hl cause of u. Does anyone know if they have a contour pressure switch for a beretta 92fs?
Sold brother. Thank you.
I'm torn, want the trl 1 hl, but the heat issue is a small concern. If you could have only one? The tlr1s with the cooler running temp or the tlr 1 hl? 300 lumens seems like enough for inside defense, which will be 90% of its job. Thoughts?
Streamlight does a poor job listing the product information. Thanks for clearing up that it has a strobe function.I almost got a tlr 1s but the HL is only $20 more
Yes a holster for the TLR-1 will work for the TLR-HL.
Do you just order the holster for the TLR-1? I'm looking at their eclipse holster and they only make it for the tlr-1 and tlr-2 on a Glock 17.
Blade-tech OWB with Tac-light. $80 and you specify the gun and light. Takes a few weeks to get but much faster than a Raven holster.
what holster is that?
Thanks. My next HK handgun is going to be a P30, maybe P30L with an LEM trigger. The five seven is cool but the ammo is hard to find and very expensive.
Nice USP by the way my next firearm I hope that or 30S or both be nice and I be ok with my collection and maybe add a FIVE SEVEN which is to much but in the future.
I just like laser and light combo. I just got the TLR4.
Yes, the light housing gets hot towards the front of the light. If you had this light on for 25+ minutes it would be too hot to hold in your hand.
you keep saying its HOT, is the light unit get hot while you holding the light?
Would of loved to watch full video but being out of focus kills ur vid
So do you think these are better than the surefire m951 tactical light ?
Can it also be used on rifles ?
fuk man I just ordered tlr 1s on amazon too. coming in this friday. keep, return, keep, return………….
Looks like I found the light I am going to get for woods carry. The "600" lumens will be nice for making the shots count on a charging animal.
I paid $120 for my TLR-1 HL brand new. Heck of a light!
great review i was torn between this and the TLR-1s and i really want this one now
So clearly the light is very bright. My two questions are this, with the light mounted, do you notice the heat it gives off? Now that you have had the light fir a bit, how well is it holding up? Is it worth the financial savings over the surefire x300 ultra?
How far from the wall are you while shining them at the flag?
I'm sold…thanks for the good review!!
When it comes to Lumens, it may not be 4x brighter as you may suspect, but think of it this way… The brightness is of course more, but keep in mind the center hot spot is also 4x the area of the others, with additional brightness. You'll need at least 4x the increase in lumens in order to cover that much more area with the same or better brightness.
I'm definitely considering this for my new 1911 with a tactical light rail.
