This video is about the new Streamlight TLR-6 on the Smith and Wesson Shield. Also shown is the Ameriglo SW345 made by Trijicon. Both are excellent additions to the already excellent S&W Shield.

  1. Fantasy world of the range includes lasers- have no use for em. I got the streamlight tlr6 w just the light only for the Shield and very happy.
Lasers, activating them and finding your dot in a high stress situation is something that you should not rely on.
    Lights are more purposeful.

  2. So, if you are dialing in the laser at 20 yards, do you fire off 1 shot, adjust the laser, fire off another shot, adjust the laser again, etc.? And finally, such companies as Vedder, Tulster, Alien Gear, etc. are making holsters for this set-up!

  3. Why is it that the tlr6 on the shield has that ugly bulbous look to it and the tlr6 for the glock 43 doesn't. Why the different look. And before anyone says bc of the trigger guard the lazer max and the ct crimson don't have such an ugly look

  4. "training for real world…not the fantasy world of the shooting range" INDEED. Tonite I had someone very very important to me, call me and said somebody tried breaking in to their home at 11pm. The guy left after 5 mins of unsuccessful entry attempt through the front door. The police finally came 3 mins after he left. This person I love has their CCW I pretty much made them acquire and he had his firearm off safety and prepared to fire at the intruder in needed. His defense weapon is an M&P shield but no light or laser and this encounter was in the dark and not even an outside light was on (that will be corrected). Anyway, I want him to add the TRL-6 to his weapon as it's a good addition to any home defense firearm….mainly the light but the laser is fine also. We discussed how the adrenaline and fear change everything but not if you train correctly and the muscle memory and reaction take over. So youre comment about real world training is 100% correct and I appreciate it very much. If the intruder got in, and my homeowner loved one wasn't armed, it likely would have been a deadly encounter. Fortunately all is well….but were adding an TRL-6 now. Thank God for the 2nd amendment !

  5. Great video! But I would consider a s&w shield as a defensive weapon not a "fighting weapon"… I would think a full size double stack would be considered a fighting weapon, only as a backup to a rifle

  6. I have this exact setup and I bought a Priority 1 IWB holster from Amazon and it was less than $50.  It's the 1st holster I ever bought for the setup, so I have nothing to compare against, but it works fine for me.  At an indoor range, I fired 100 rds of Remington UMC FMJ ammo, ~20 rds each of HPR and Remington JHP's, and the TLR6 was covered in soot.  I've always shot rifles and this is my first pistol (and ccw), so I don't know if it's the ammo or if this is just the nature of short pistols, but after about 150 rds, it was enough to dim the flashlight.I have trouble seeing the dot at 25 yds out.  I intend to use this for ccw,/home defense, and I thought I'd be mainly be engaging around 15 feet so I zero'd at 5 yds (15 ft).  It hits 1 in low at 10 ft and 1.5 in high at 20 ft.  I thought about 7 yds (21ft), but trying the 5 yd zero for now.  Is there a closer zero than the 25 yd one (something that I can see) that you recommend?  Thanks.
