Everyone asks where I find AR-15 stuff in stock or where I order from, so here you are:
This is how I install my low profile gas blocks. It is a quick and easy trick to do but it has not failed me yet.

I love your videos but something about this installation I'm a little confused because if you were to install a drop-in handguard your not accounting for that little bit of a space you need it should be a gap the gas block should not be resting up against that lip I was told you need to leave room for the end cap of a drop-in handguard. I just installed a gas block and it worked perfectly I also left room as if I were putting an end cap there to install a handguard but I chose the free-float method instead but that slight Gap is still there I do not recall the exact measurement. If I'm wrong please help me out explain
wouldn't having the tube in the block, and installing the tube into the receiver kinda line it all up for you?
Good tip thanks
neat easy tip
Isn't there supposed to be something to the tune of 0.025 inches of space between the shoulder of the barrel and the rear edge of the gas block?
Thank you…great tip!
Great video!
I made a mistake by not sliding the gas block ALL the way back to the barrel. I had really bad gas blow back, from leaving a gap between the block and barrow. The smallest things. Facepalm.
My gas tube fits snug inside the upper so I don't really have any play on rotating the gas block any, I assume it is aligned correctly as it only goes in one way.
when you tighten the gas block do you use loctite?
Short n sweet. Right to the point. Very easy to understand. Thanks
Some gas blocks dont line up all the way to the wall on the barrel
Good tip..thanks
Going to be attempting this today on my upper rebuild today. Simple, easy, and to the point. This was the one thing I was unfamiliar with doing.
Anyone know what kind of torque specs clamp on gas blocks use? Are you suppose to use thread lock or stake the screws?
Say if the gas block is slightly off alignment will it effect the rifle from cycling?
Might want to consider using something else instead of a graphite pencil. As someone else commented previously, graphite doesn't react well with steel in a high-temp environment.
Great tips and advice 🙂
As far as I can remember, using a graphite on a part that gets very hot can lead to cracks due to the heat concentration in that localized spot. This is at least common practice in aviation, never is a pencil used on anything to do with high temp ducting or engine parts. Just a heads up.
Just wanted to give you a huge thanks for your vids! I went from never having built an AR to just completed my 8th! I'm so proud of them I can't tell you! Again your vids made it all possible!!
I always blow compressed air down inside the gas tube and adjust the gas block until I feel air coming out of the barrel then I tighten the s**t out of the set screws.
Ahhhh,…. Toshiro Nagasaki…!! That's easy peasy! Japanesee… LoL. No racisim….!
So simple and yet so perfect. Thank you for this video.
good job, I agree that is the way it should be
that is genius I'm gonna try this method whe I install my new Midwest Industries gas block & Gen 3 SS Free Float Rail
great trick
I put a piece of toothpick in to the port and cut it to flush with the barrel. Slide the block over it, Invert and let gravity pull the wood into the gas block port. When all is aligned, tighten the screws, and stake. Then run a cleaning rod down the barrel to break off the toothpick, and repeat.
The little plastic pins they sell over at Brownell's for about 10 bucks are even easier than this. Takes about 15 seconds to set your block.
Never watched ur vids before ive built a few AR's but this is a great tip i will be tryin this for sure in about 2 days when i finish my 300 blkout build
Great , simple, Thank you. (no purchase necessary.)
on my DPMS LR308, I placed my block flushed with the collar … I have a free float hadguard, so do even need the spacing in between??
if I didn't leave space will I have issues ???
( since I don't need the handguard cap)
mine has hand guard sheet metal.are gas holes going to line up the other way. forward and rear
Simple yet effective. Thanks!
liked video wright to the point seems simple enough thanks.
i purchased a gas block 2 weeks ago that had a hole drilled in the top of it…so i stuck a 1/16 allen wrench through the hole down into the barrel gas port…was idiot proof.
Great vid. I just subscribed. I love quick straight to the point tutorial videos.
BEST ADVISE TO DATE!
Great tip. I'll be using that.
