Everyone asks where I find AR-15 stuff in stock or where I order from, so here you are:

This is how I install my low profile gas blocks. It is a quick and easy trick to do but it has not failed me yet.

  1. I love your videos but something about this installation I'm a little confused because if you were to install a drop-in handguard your not accounting for that little bit of a space you need it should be a gap the gas block should not be resting up against that lip I was told you need to leave room for the end cap of a drop-in handguard. I just installed a gas block and it worked perfectly I also left room as if I were putting an end cap there to install a handguard but I chose the free-float method instead but that slight Gap is still there I do not recall the exact measurement. If I'm wrong please help me out explain

  2. Great video!
I made a mistake by not sliding the gas block ALL the way back to the barrel. I had really bad gas blow back, from leaving a gap between the block and barrow. The smallest things. Facepalm.

  3. My gas tube fits snug inside the upper so I don't really have any play on rotating the gas block any, I assume it is aligned correctly as it only goes in one way.

  4. Might want to consider using something else instead of a graphite pencil. As someone else commented previously, graphite doesn't react well with steel in a high-temp environment.

  5. As far as I can remember, using a graphite on a part that gets very hot can lead to cracks due to the heat concentration in that localized spot. This is at least common practice in aviation, never is a pencil used on anything to do with high temp ducting or engine parts. Just a heads up.

  6. Just wanted to give you a huge thanks for your vids! I went from never having built an AR to just completed my 8th! I'm so proud of them I can't tell you! Again your vids made it all possible!!

  7. I put a piece of toothpick in to the port and cut it to flush with the barrel. Slide the block over it, Invert and let gravity pull the wood into the gas block port. When all is aligned, tighten the screws, and stake. Then run a cleaning rod down the barrel to break off the toothpick, and repeat.

  8. on my DPMS LR308, I placed my block flushed with the collar … I have a free float hadguard, so do even need the spacing in between??
if I didn't leave space will I have issues ???

( since I don't need the handguard cap)
