  1. Finally got to run the CMMG conversion kit thru my Colt SP1, just like yours. Worked perfect, notched hammer and all. Even ran a couple of BDM 50 round drum mags thru it and it ran without a single malfunction. Lots of cheap fun.

  2. Great video. I have an early 70s Colt SP1 also. Did you find the magazines were extremely loose in your lower? I just bought my kit and the cmmg mags that came with it would rock back and forth in the lower. I noticed that the 2 small nipples on the side of the magazine that allow you to custom fit it were already gone and this was a brand new kit. I haven't shot it yet and it's probably better to have them loose than tight but I just wanted to check with you and see how yours fit. Thanks

  3. The older CMMG kits were never designed to extract/eject live ammo FYI. Their recent models do but mine doesn't. Contact them and they may have some advice for you. You have to carefully modify the extractor feed ramp if you want to extract duds/live ammo reliably. And try some CCI mini-mags or remington Golden Bullets and see if they run for you. They seem to have a bit more punch than bulk federals (which I generally use for everything).

  4. It is stainless steel,It does not have the notched hammer. I don't have any feed problems just ejection. And I don't think it is the ammo because I put the magazine in the gun and and ran it manually and some of the rounds do not eject all the way.

  5. FYI I ran another 4 mags through it today, zero malfunctions, other than a couple of duds with old ammo. Had to remove the mag and bang the butt against my thigh while racking the bolt to clear the duds.

  6. @1AbominAble1 I had thought about it for a while also… but cdnn had a sale and I couldn't say no to $150 for the stainless version with 2 mags. CMMG is coming out with a next-gen version soon that will extract live/dummy/dud rounds; you may want to read up on that.
