  1. REFERRING TO THE VIRIDIAN: yes i know this video was made years back and i'm glad because i bought it after I watched this video. The one problem i did notice is that if you do not mount it properly it can't take the recoil of a compact pistol. it will fly off.

  2. Well we know we don't point unless willing to kill. What if you point a green laser at a false target and they are blinded? Green lasers are nice anytime to get your target but they are at a wavelengh that can blind target before they can blink. Its what is keeping me shy to buy.

  3. great vid. and you guys have helped me decide which light im going for now. i was stuck between 3 of those lights and seeing them in action saved me time and money. keep them coming guys. definitely want the Infornce APL

  4. So – after identifying a threat, you transition from the flashlight to the weapon light? Common sense would indicate that you would want to deal with the threat immediate, not transition to a weapon light. Use the weapon light to clear and use some trigger discipline- it's that simple

  5. I agree with most everything you said. Before seeing the video, I already owned the Streamlight. I recently lost it (stupid me stupid me). Doing research on a replacement, and decided to buy it again. already in my Amazon cart.

  6. So whilest you are changing from your flashlight to your weapon…you can just ask the insane criminal in your house to "hang on, time out" . That may be your plan but it sure as heck isn't mine.

  7. The Inforce APL sucks balls, wasted money on this crap, the company said I abused the product which is BS, the mounting bracket cracked under recoil…….went back to a Streamlight TLR-1S which was cheaper & higher lumen output. DO NOT buy the Inforce APL unless you like to waste money!!!

  8. While I agree 110% that you should never hold a weapon light on a person to identify them but so long as you have a decent light on there, you can point it at the floor and it will light the room well enough to identify everything around you

  9. Viridian seems to upsale their products when their quality surely show it, although they are probably some of the most attractive weapon lights out there. I've seen too many owners report malfunctions.

The Inforce wins it for me. It fits 100% into my personal application. Its lightweight, its intuitive and attractive, only requires 1 battery switch (and an easy one). Drawback, battery life. Sure it isn't the greatest but how long am I gonna be using it in an urban environment?

The TLR is something I would use for outdoor applications. The high beam, long battery life and robust craftsmanship simply ask to be taken out on a hunting journey during the night. It's definitely one of those take to hell and back weapon lights.

  10. Nice review! I own the Streamlight, great light. My wife recently got the Viridian c5l. There is a definite difference in light output but the Viridian has one cool additional feature, TacLoc ECR. This allows for an auto on when the gun is drawn from its holster. In a potentially stressful defensive situation this would eliminate the need to remember to turn the light on. It isn't a necessary feature but it would lead to the higher price.

  11. People tend to forget that they can give a verbal warning to a suspected threat like "who's there" or "I have a gun". You don't have to carry two flashlights to "identify" and "illuminate your target lol
