Nice I got spikes 9mm buffer and there spring, in my 3.5” QC10 barrel build
Does that lowers LRBHO function?
I guess the Law Tactical folding stock adapter "could be" mechanically possible, but I sure wouldn't try it on a 9mm build. You stand a good chance of reducing the reliability of the firearm. I had one on an AR 23 pistol. I took it off because it got in the way, and the benefits didn't justify its existence on my weapon. If you need to fold down a "rifle" for storage, I can see it… I guess. There's just no reason to put one on an AR pistol.
Where is part 2?
So I purchased an Armaspec silent capture buffer and on their page it tells you to remove the weight in the back of Spike's BCG. Did you ever come across anyone who had good instruction on how to remove that weight? If so would you send the link to me or put it in your comments. Thank you and the build looks awesome, I've always used Spike's as well, great quality AR brand.
Removing the weight off the back of the bolt carrier is not a good idea you should consider getting a SB Tactical PDW Stock it would be about the same price if you consider the folder and blade combo. By removing the weight you and adding spring sounds good but the BCG is designed to run at a particular mass lever by taking the mass off and increasing spring rate you are increasing the speed of the BCG that can snap off the bolt catch and create other issues.
Will it take glock 40 mags
Wouldn’t the 5 inch barrel be better then a 3 inch like for instance a g26?
Did the Spikes lower come with the pins and bolt catch already installed?
Just built my 9ar now I have to build a spikes 9mm ar I built my spikes ar15 honey badger sweet gun …good vid bro show us how it comes out
I've gathered from all the research that I've done, that Spike's Tactical does indeed make great quality products!
However, until they get rid of that arachnid logo, I won't be buying anything from them!
No, I'm not kidding.
Yes, I am arachnophobic.
Lastly, Praying Mantises rule!
Go with the 308 buffer spring
Awsome can't wait to see it all built up. Hey could we get a close up on the lower. Like how the mag release looks. I've never seen a 9mm lower in person just curious.
Looking forward to see where you wind up going with this thing. Enjoyed following your SE Traders pistol build progress. My buddy always suggests CMC triggers. One of these days I might follow that advice. His 9mm build works well with an 8oz buffer and the red sprinco. I myself am considering building my own 9mm upper to pair with my recently built pistol lower. Good luck with yours.
Stupid Glock lowers. Yes, just being silly. Hehehe…
9mm ARs are fun.
Sweet! Wish they had 45
I️ have a lower also and I’m trying to figure out my build and what is the most reliable pistol build, I’m curious to see what upper you go with👀
I built a Spike’s 9mm AR using the colt pattern lower and a Spike’s 9mm upper. It has a 8.5” Faxon barrel and a CMMG bolt with the same buffer you have. I used a 308 buffer spring. Works perfectly.
Building an all Spike’s colt pattern 9mm this week because I like the 9mm AR’s.
It is a great lower! I built mine with KVP complete 4” upper with 308 buffer and spring. KNS antiwalk pins & kak brace. Shoots great!
That really is going to be sweet!
Gear head works tail hook for the “arm brace”
Spingco buffer springs from Austin Tx
I️ know some triggers will break under 9mm blow back Colt had a problem with that in there early 9mm ARs
In the past I read about some guys having issues with CMC triggers in 9mm ARs, something I'm gonna look into again.
I have no experience with 9mm ARs, so this will be pretty cool.
Cool gun! You going to let Tyler shoot it? Sounds like the perfect size and balance for him!
A 9mm can is a part I'd suggest!
Primary arms had CMC triggers for 99$ on Black Friday.
This is gonna be an awesome build.
check out rise armaments triggers they make great triggers at a good price and check out neverwearsprings.com
you should really check out aero precision if you haven't already. they make OEM parts for alot of major ar companies
A super compact 9mm carbine would be super cool, no doubt! Seems a little pricey right now though. But that's the way it goes with the latest and greatest kit. On a different note, I just read a notice on Vidme. Seems they are shutting down December 15 ! Now what?
Nice Brother, Can’t wait to see how it turns out! Carry On
I'm building my first AR-9 as well I only have a lower at this point, so I'm excited to see how yours progresses.
