CMMG .22LR Conversion Kit Alpha Model (phosphate finish)
This is a representation to help you decide on one of these kits. A short visual review so you can see how well MY kit works with a variety of cheap “brick” ammo. I recommend these to everyone I know with an AR. You get so many benefits from these kits, easy to switch between calibers, many brands of reliable magazines, acceptable accuracy, cheap priced ammo, and a cross training tool for all ar15 enthusiasts. All ammo used in this video is value ammo. I do use 40gr. lead nose along with plated 36gr. HP .22 ammo with no ill effects. Thanks for watching!
**I always run a full mag of .223 through it after I shoot the .22lr conversion. It helps clean out the gas tube from all the .22 crud.***
AR-15’s used:
-Upper 1 Olympic Arms 16″ M-4 style (1/9 twist, stainless steel bbl)
-Upper 2 BCM 16″ Midlength (1/7 twist, chrome lined bbl)
-Lower used was Bushmaster with notched hammer. (notched hammer not recommended by CMMG, they recommend the rounded hammer).
I never seen a guy rack and pound on a gun more than this before… You miss treat weapons… Are you a special force op?.. Or a cop?
How many rounds have you put through the phosphate coated cmmg? And I was going to go with the stainless steel one, but you save a whole lot more money with the phosphate coated one.
how did you get a s&w 15-22 magazine to work with the cmmg arc kit?
I not only told them I sent them pictures.
That's too bad. but sounds like the run around is not what you got. If the part was not welded properly you should have told them that first. CMMG has excellent customer service record especially when it comes to these kits. Two of my friends have the stainless kit and they couldn't be happier with them. I hope your's works out for you.
I am no very happy with my CMMG 22 stainless steel conversion kit. I was having a lot of ejection problems. I tried different ammo and a different magazine. After a closer look at the bolt carrier I noticed the back part that is welded to the rails was not straight.I emailed tech. support pictures. The guy gave me the run around.I finally told him the part was not welded properly and I wanted an exchange.
Lucky Gunner has the Federal Bulk 22 ammo on sale for $185 5,250 rounds
@TheTactical6string Yeah I know, I just don't think it's that big of a deal. I clean with Hoppe's bore solvent after I shoot the lead so no biggie. I'm still able to use the Fed bulk ammo. I have the 525 and 550 packs stocked up. The lead 40gr. are more accurate and cycle better for me too. I have had good luck with everything except Rem Gold Bullet, it will FTF all day long, that stuff just sucks! Thanks for watching!
Watch out for the non-copper washed 22's, I get large amounts of lead build up on my muzzle break when ever I use them with my conversion. I wish the FEDERAL Bulk Match ammo was copper washed cause it works well. The 525 bulk used to work well but now doesnt seem to work as well.
