This guy has potential I bet if he keeps working hard he will be promoted to the "A" channel
does this mean that your carbon fiber upper will not suffer a melt down during extreme and long lasting firing?
The effects of heat treatment temperature (HTT) of polyacrylonitrile-based carbon fi- ber (CF) on the mechanical, thermal, and tribological properties of C/C composites were investigated. It was found that HTT (graphitization) of CF affects the thermal conductivity and mechanical and tribological characteristics of C/C composites. Thermal treatment of fibers at temperatures up to 2800°C led to a decrease of the wear rate and the friction coefficient of C/C composite-based discs from 7.0 to 1.1 μm/stop and from 0.356 to 0.269, respectively. The friction surface morphology and friction mechanism strongly depended on the mechanical properties of the CFs. The relief of the friction surface of composites based on CFs with final graphitization was also modified, compared to that of composites based on initial fibers. This phenomenon could be explained by modification of the abrasive wear resistance of reinforcement fibers and consequently modification of the friction and wearing properties of composites. Correlation of the graphitization temperature with the increased flexural and compressive strength, apparent density, and thermal conductivity of the composites was also demonstrated.
The grip made me blind.
I'm currently building my second AR. This might sound crazy but I would like to ship it to you and get your feedback. Maybe you could even make a "Best AR15 ever built" video with it :). No torture testing though
It's been a year, so how did the Sharps XPB hold up????
Thanks
I highly recommend the Brigand Arms fore end, you'll shave several ounces over the one that you have. Great looking set up though.
"""Lightweight"""
-Heavy aluminum grip
-Gunner profile barrel (steel gas block?)
-Full mass steel BCG
-Mil-spec upper and lower
-Steel LPK
-"enhanced" charging handle
-Buffer weights
-Forward vertical grip
You're about a pound and a half heavy there mate. Nice rifle for sure, but not lightweight.
WEIGHT ???
Why was this mirror imaged?
How you gonna do a lightweight build and not weigh the damn thing. Unless I missed it… Don't think I did.
super jealous right now 🙁
Cool rifle!
I agree reliability is #1 and then comes accuracy.
That is a beautiful tool! I couldn't wait to get it all dirty and what not.
I'm going with the faxon 14.5 pencil barrel and SLiM muzzle device also. going for lightweight but reliable just like this. still up in the air on what handguard to use.
agent 47 is that you
When do you plan on doing a full review on this rifle soon I hope !
Very cool, also very light. Love AR builds thanks for sharing.
Instead of "Gun-Gaming" try using "Min-Maxing"…
How much would you say this build ended up costing? What kind of groups are you getting with this build. Do you think a build with PSA Upper and Lower will yield similar weight with the other parts you used?
Too light bruh. LOL.
a liteweight lefty gun
only reliable rifles are interesting…couldn't agree more. reliability>everything else. 1 question, why do you say you prefer flash hiders over breaks on 5.56?
Link for the handguard is the same as the one for the pistol grip.
AR's are getting so boring
I've been running that PWS mod 2 extension for a 1k + rounds now with no issues.
Tried listening to it twice, but kids in the backseat kept yelling at each other. I give up for now, can someone tell me the overall weight of this build? Thanks. Two loving, charming, sweet, unselfish, obedient children with few scars available for adoption.
Hey Mrgunsngear! Can you please do a full review on the new XPB bolt carrier group! I want to buy a BCG and Idk if I should just stick with the old NP3 Plus or the new XPB!!! Thanks
Great video as usual. I put a lower together with the same parts minus the pistol grip, however, I've been a problem where bolt won't open in the last round fired. I first had a JP buffer spring with the pws h2 buffer and thinking that was the problem I put an h1 buffer but still the problem shows up every so often. I only have magpul and bcm mags. Have you had an issue like this before? Thanks in advance for the help.
A lot of us old guys don't face book.
Very nice build, I put the tyrant designs fore grip on my JL billet build to match the grip, lightweight and very nice design. I thought you were building a 308 for some reason??
