EOTech 200 Yard Target Session (No Magnification)

200 yard target shooting session with the EOTech 516 Holographic Weapons System. Sight is mounted to my AR15 carbine; Rock River Arms upper receiver with 16″ barrel and Bushmaster lower. I am using .223 Remington, Fiocchi 55 gr FMJ. With the exception of the first target setup at 170 yards, steel targets are AR500 steel from Mike Gibson Targets. Video features dual cameras during the shooting sessions for picture-in-picture effect; from the shooting position and at the target.

During my February 2012 review, I sighted the EOTech at 50 yards, which should provide an accurate 200 yard zero.

I get a lot of questions with regard to the EoTech being placed so close to the charging handle. This is where I have to mount the unit for POV shooting (camcorder mounted to the retractable stock) and I had recently completed a POV session. I left it as is and this wasn’t an issue, IMO.

Viewable at 720p or 1080p HD if the bandwidth works for you.

  1. These other guys that post their shooting videos, really need to take notes from yours. Love it, no laughing and joking, just shooting and facts. Thanks for showing some really useful clips.

  2. Thanks for posting the video. I found it helpful. I believe that if the steel target had been painted over again before the shooting then it would have been easier to follow where the rounds were impacting. If I took my attention away for a moment then I had no idea which mark was current and which was older.

  3. Random thought, couldn't you technically get the windage zeroed up close to the target. Because left and right won't change going back, couldn't you zero the left and right at like 10 yards then back up to zero up and down

  4. If you watch military arms channel "not saying he is right but I believe I can trust this statement." The AR and AK both are 600 yard rifles. Meaning that's where he claims is there sweet spot! They can accurately shoot further but I'd say your shooting with no magnification is excellent! The eotech has a 65 moa circle with a 1 moa dot which I think would make it a pretty accurate nonmagnified optic at long ranges!
