Dis-assembly of the bolt. Battery ran out so lost the beginning of the video where the pin is removed. This is a follow on to How to dis-assemble beyond field strip of upper receiver and bolt carrier for cleaning for the Colt M4 carbine .22LR. Also the lower trigger assembly is removed from the lower receiver.
Warning! Messing with firearms could be dangerous. I assume no responsibility for use of these steps or use or misuse of this video.

  1. Purchased a Colt 22lr M4 a little while back. Thanks to your very detailed disassembly videos. I have the confidence to completely disassemble it for cleaning and oiling. Even repairs if ever needed. You have a very good knack for explaining how this is done. Thank you for taking the time to video and post these. I can keep my rifle functioning in top notch condition.

  2. Great video ! I have an HK 416 22lr that uses the same bolt as your colt , my problem is that the firing pin broke in two after only about 500 rounds , now that I know how to go about fixing it I was wondering if you can steer me in the right direction on how to get a new firing pin or any advice on how to get this fixed, would you be interested in fixing it? Any advice would be helpful I love this gun and miss shooting it .

  3. Very detailed work. I like your attention to detail. The only thing that gets to me is you kept calling the extractor the ejector. Last time I did that an army small arms repairer nearly took my head off. Other than that I absolutely loved the video.

  4. Hello Sir.  Your videos are GREAT.  I have learned so much by watching them.  Could you recommend the M4 as a Good .22LR AR type platform??  I am thinking about which version to purchase.  S&W, Ruger, Sig Sauer, OR Colt M4??  could you recommend the M4 as a good rifle?  thank you   sincerely,   JAMES.

  5. I wouldn't do it when you are only getting 1/600 light strike. Reducing the firing pin can cause slam fire. This is one of the problem with the S&W M&P-15-22 even though it is much easier to clean. The slam fire blows up the upper because it is plastic. Since this rifle is all metal, there less danger of injury.

  6. I read that light cartridge strikes can be cured by shortening the firing pin spring by 1/8th inch. Have you heard of this modification. I only had one light strike out of 600 rounds so i dont think i nedd to mod my bolt. What is your opinion?

  7. Hello. I have watched all 5 of your dis – re – assembly videos on the Colt M4. I am still trying to decide if I should buy one OR buy the Smith & Wesson MP 22. The take down of it seems to be a nightmare from what I have seen of it. Do your have an opinion regarding which one I should purchase based upon your knowledge?? Thank You. Sincerely, JAMES.
