A semi-auto 22LR can be notoriously unreliable. I was pleasantly surprised at how well this AR15 conversion kit operated.

  1. 12-15 yds….I use a sling shot….Where are these idiots coming from…minimum accuracy start at 25yds and then 50yds if you ever want to use it to feed your self. This guy knows nothing about accuracy.

  2. I bought one with 3 mags for my Colts & can't wait to get to the range, I installed a Hiperfire 3G trigger & bought thousands of rounds of ammo so I'am going to need plenty more targets lol.

  3. My CMMG conversion has serious problems with both run away and FTF. Brian at CMMG says its because I have a notched hammer in my colt. I have not found a replacement yet. 🙁 CMMG reported to me that this is an issue. I asked why they do not post this info since it is such a big problem. Brian said he would speak to higher ups to get the info posted that if you have a notched hammer that it will not work.

  4. Your videos are in the right place at the right time. I purchased this as well as the trigger tech. My father who is not up to speed on today's technology doesn't believe this is possible. I purchased one and will just let him shoot without telling him. 😏 I'll update after we go. Probably wait for the trigger tech to arrive.

  5. My problem with AR conversion kits has to do with accuracy, especially in the 50+ yard range. Though I have little objective proof, I think the issue arises from the difference in rifling between a typical .22 rifle and a typical AR.

The thin (or no) coating on the .22 projectile is not meant for the 1:7 or 1:9 twist of an AR barrel. It is designed to work best in a 1:14 or 1:16 twist of a .22.

What little I have in the way of "proof" is in how readily the AR barrel fouls with lead; I think the fierce twist shears off slivers of lead shavings from each round. The shaved lead and the increasing fouling both lead to an unusually large number of "flyers" at longer distances.

I don't know if this is a really huge consideration, but I opted for a dedicated .22LR upper for my A-2. Once sighted, it is a joy to shoot.
