This is a look at the Vortex Diamondback 4-16x42mm scope with Nikon M-223 mount. This scope is excellent at a price point under 400. I am happier with it than I expected to be. It is a solid scope for a ton of different applications. Links Below to optic on Amazon

  1. I disagree with the statement that "there is no such thing as to much magnification". To much magnification can make it harder to track targets as well as tracking shots that miss. You miss a target but don't see the splash or vapor trail because your field of view is to narrow.

  2. Last long range course I was part of we were all asked to take a 5 shot group at 1200 yards. We were allowed to do it once at our scope's max power and once at 10X maximum. Every one of us shot a better group at 10X than we did with extra mag so its not really true that more magnification makes you more accurate.

Also if you really want to compare different glass try it at dawn and dusk and see how well the different scope allow you to see in very dim conditions. This is the primary place where you'll see the difference in the money you spend. That and the quality of the glass and the distortion out when you look at the outside edge of the glass.

  3. Hey! I have the same scope my question is can you trace back and tell me what sunshade you are using? I want one for mine and I guess the thread pitch is different from the generic sunshades please and thanks!

  4. Great Setup! I just bought the same scope as well and currently having trouble finding a sunshade for it. Would you by chance know the make or manufacturer of the sunshade in your video?
