Here’s a review of the new 630 lumen Streamlight TLR-1 HL. I do a little shooting with it and a comparison with the original TLR and the Surefire X300U.

  1. Thoughts on pistol light pressure switch? My department is going to the M&P with X300. Pressure switch is optional. What are your thoughts on pistol light pressure switches? ya or nay?

  2. Hey, have you had a chance to look at the new 800 lumen versions? I'm thinking about one of those in FDE for my Geissele rail on my AR. They supposedly have the same 1.25 hr run times.

  3. I just purchased a glock 21 and would like a light for my pistol. I'm leaning towards the TLR-1 hl but i also just saw olight has a decent light. I like surefires lights also. i was wondering which light you use for home defense?

  4. Great review, basic and to the point. I just picked one of these guys up by accident. I went into Cabelas and wanted the original but was given the HL model. Glad I bought it and feel good knowing you've had great success with Streamlight thanks again and post any malfunctions (hypothetically) in the future!

  5. People who say 600 lumens is way too much blah blah blah are just ignorant to be honest and they seriously lack training. Take a basic low light class and learn SIMPLE methods in deploying your weapon mounted light such as base boarding or umbrella…..this entry level shit makes their feeble argument completely obsolete when talking about temporary blindness…mirror on the wall? oh god, end of the world better take that tlr1 hl off your pistol and replace it with some 50 lumen Chinese shit to avoid temporary blindness…..no! umbrella, identify, destory. Seek training folks
