Awesome video as always
Thanks
Excellent instruction! Alot of people forget about the warnings of the springs and pins.
Hey Sootch, over the past couple of years that I've gotten into AR's, I found that the hole for the detent pin and spring will accommodate a 4-40 tap. Then you can use a 4-40 allen screw, and never have to worry when you take the buffer tube off, ever again. You will have to cut the spring a little bit in order to depress the spring enough for the threads on the screw to ''catch''. And that's no big deal, if you use a pair of side cutters/ diagonal pliers. I'm sure a lot of AR guys out there have done this very thing.
would you say this buffer is the same leangth as the psa pistol buffer tube?
do buffer tubes come in different specs…like if the barrel is mid-length or carbine it should be pair with a proper size of buffer tube?
I can't find the follow up video with the SB-15 review. Curious if the brace would not fit on the RRA pistol buffer tube?
the pistol buffer tube doesn't need a castle nut .??
The only thing I dont care for is the ASAP attachment. Reason being for me is the jingling rattle noise that it gives off. Not a good idea if when you're trying to remain hidden. That can give away your position even if you have lets say a single point sling onto it. Maybe you can wrap it with some kind of tape or rubber dip it.
Does anyone know if pistol buffer tubes use the same length buffer tube spring as a 6 position mil spec buffer tube?
I want that.
can not find the buffer tube on there web sight .
Where is the video of you installing the sig brace ?
Just wanted to follow up and see if your buffer tube is backing out since you went with the LockTite Red. I finally went out and test fired my AR pistol after building it 9 months ago. Buffer tube went loose, but luckily I did not lose anything. Need to figure out a way to keep it put.
Thanks for sharing your information, truly appreciate it.
Mark
I know you probably didn't buy it I'm sure it was given to you but why buy an expensive fluted buffer tube if your just going to cover it up?
Thanks for the great videos
Without your reddot sight how much does that weigh unloaded? In Mass we have a 50oz limit on how heavy an AR pistol can be and I am trying to decide between the RRA 7in or the RRA 10in.
I like this guy…
.lol,, mainly bc he shows his complications at end of ea clip.. As well all know our weapons, we can become complacent when easily distracted when attempting to video ourselves. That buffer pin shooting straight up while unscrewing buffer tube is classic.. Yes, no matter how many times you tell these good folks what not to do (as im sure you knew yourself) we will never understand the importance of simple instructions until something like this happens to us. Especially, spending an hour looking for that damn thing or having to order another.. Good job
You're going to make an "installation video" for the Sig Stabilizer? How long is it going to be, about a minute? Better have some shooting action in there as well. Love the Vids.
Red Loctite? You'll have to use heat to loosen if ya ever want to remove the buffer assembly. Blue should work fine. Why red sootch?
What optic are you running on that pistol?
Have you installed the sb15 on the rra pistol buffer tube yet? Would love to the the video…..
What about an 80% lower?
Love your videos, and that you leave the out takes in 🙂
I wana know bout that "brace"
YES, long live the REPUBLIC
I never quite understood the appeal of an AR pistol.
I got my Sig stabilizer a little over a month ago and "man-oh-man" is it worth every penny ……
I have the same tube but its a Palmetto State Armory. I guess they had RRA make it for them. Keep it up sootch. Love your vids.
It's about time! Looks great! Later!
Cool gun! Love the out takes!
so if i put a vertical grip on a "pistol" how will the atf know?…oh yeah they wont! man, i'd love to put some m16 (full auto) parts in my ar but i know they would be knocking on the door!…plus i know the local sheriff would never sign off to do a form 4!
oh yeah, that shit looked bootleg as hell (with the paracord)…does look better now although still not my cup of tea
i like how this is referred to as a "pistol" i guess technically its a pistol due to the spec but im sorry (imo) this isn't a pistol…it's a sbr ar15 without a stock!
I don't know why, but the detent flying through the air made me LOL. I enjoy your outtakes and your videos!
you can put a grip in the front but you shel need an AR15 Spur
Great video, sootch00!!! I built a pistol lower with one of these beauties last week. It's truly a work of art, isn't it!! The fluting and knurled area are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. It's almost a shame to cover it with anything… be it a foam cover, Sig brace, or paracord.
One point that is important with the RRA pistol tube: you must use a quality end plate. Many aftermarket end plates won't work because they are too thick and therefore won't allow the pistol tube to screw in far enough to retain the buffer retainer. The Magpul ASAP is the safest bet due it's reliable MilSpec sizing (and it doesn't have the tab that must be filed down on most other end plates), plus the ambidextrous end plate works well for a single-point sling like commonly used on short barrel builds.
That really looks sharp!
What red dot sight is that? It looks pretty cool.
hey does any one know any thing about hunting i need help with something
There's no castle nut! Crazy! I like it.
I've tried liking AR pistols but I just can't. I can see how its nice to have something that small and light, but that buffer tube sticking out the back makes me gag. SBR it and put a stock but but AR's are just not meant to be pistols. The only exception to that are the cool .22 AR pistols that don't require a buffer tube.
Nice AR pistol and i like it the work you do with the buffer tube, excelent job , congratulations .
I like all your videos thank you.

What is the point of an AR pistol? I would rather have an adjustable stock
Very interesting for me. Thanks for this clip
