  1. what annoys me is a shiny stainless scope on a black gun…a black matte scope in black matte rings on a black matte gun…anyway…I agree with leveling the gun both laterally and rotationally to 0* off the rail…I disagree with your mounting procedure…I push forward on the rings to the front on the slot on the rail, (this is where they will end up after a few shots anyways) and lock them down to the specified torque to the rail…I ALWAYS USE A TORQUE WRENCH…then I lay the scope into the saddles, and loosely screw the top caps in place…I then set my eye relief, marked with tape or a pencil on the tube…then I lay a digital protractor on the top scope elevation cap and level it rotationally in the saddle, to level the reticle…then I begin to tighten cap screws in a diagonal pattern, while watching the digital protractor…if it moves from 0* after I reach my final torque, I back off the screws, and offset the scope to that amount and torque the screws again (you touched on this)…usually my angle stays at 0* and my caps will be properly torqued and my gaps between saddle and caps will be very close to equal…( I also suffer from OCD with balance and evenness on guns, cars, house, whatever)…I have never lapped rings…never need to and have never damaged a scope tube or had it move

  2. Another good video. Hoping I can take my AR with a Nikon P223 scope out tomorrow and site it in. Then have fun blasting rounds down range. I have same type of laser bore-sight yet got the cheaper one with red laser. What gage is that slug gun?
