The CMMG Banshee is a new Compact PDW build around CMMG’s radial delayed blowback system in the AR9 Pistol Caliber Carbine. These things are short. This is an SBR (Short Barreled Rifle) and as such all NFA rules apply, but pistol variants and uppers will also be made available for those that live in silly places. This video also features one of the nee Defcan silencers, as this is a collaborative project between CMMG and Silencer Shop. Built out with CMMGs new RipStock, and Magpul furniture

  1. Guns like the CZ Scorpion etc. are solutions looking for a problem. The were designed to be full auto, the semi auto civilian version might look cool but serve no actual purpose. You are way better off getting a long slide pistol with a good optic (think RMR).

  2. How does this compare to the HK MP5 regarding recoil and reliability? The MP5 has one hell of a good reliability track record as a PDW; just trying to understand what you guys mean be "BEST" because if price is a big factor then the HK won't do so well.

But based on your video it looks like CMMG has a great product even with that one feed failure. I hate that these companies just don't make a complete system to make something perfect even if they have to mod the glock mags to improve reliability.

  3. CMMG: playing with the big boys! I've been using one of their 4.5" 22lr AR barrels for an SBR with a side folding stock and suppressor for several years and have zero complaints. I really want a 9mm SBR & this will work nicely.

  4. Does this silencer require those hard-to-get-in licenses that takes months to get approved, or can it be purchased with the gun?
great for home defense and you won't go deaf when used for defense.

  5. Looks like that can might be throwing the point of impact off a bit. Without it your hitting consistantly. with it , somethings up. Maybe the tollerances are just a little too close on the can. The can should not be the barrel. The round should pass thru without making contact with the can. Not sure whats up. Might be turbulance within the can due to the design of the baffles. Somethings definitely up. Might want to contact cmmg and let them have a look.
