Some issues I had with a CMMG 22 Conversion Bolt Carrier Group. Honestly it seems the issue is just with this one kit. Everyone who owns one seems to have a lot of success and reliability with them and I think this is just a fluke. This shooting session is using the polymer charging handle made by CMMG specifically for 22 ARs and this kit. Still did not remedy the problem. The casings were being ejected
upward into the charge handle and getting stuck inside the gun preventing the next round from being cycled properly. I am still considering the newer EVO model as this is an older model. If any of you guys have ideas please let me know. Ammo used was CCI Mini Mag, CCI Blazer, Federal Bulk, Aguila Super Hyper Velocity (?), and there was some Remington thrown in the mix. All had issues. Mags were the stock CMMG mag and two standard AR 22 15 round mags (brand new).
Same issue for me
Things I have done to improve my kit(Target Master).
-Polish the feed ramp and inside barrel
-Bought a better ejector
-Bought the CMMG Charge Handle
-Cut bolt return spring(way too strong)
-Added a spring to the 10rd BDM follower
Now it runs as it should, I don't know if the slight differences in manufacturers of kits and AR's are the problem, but some have success and others don't. This is the process it took me to get a decent 22LR Conversion Kit.
+therealjarett this is how I fixed mine, CMMG 22lr Conversion Kit, Failure Problems and Fix
I had the same issue, very frustrating, here is how I fixed mine. CMMG 22lr Conversion Kit, Failure Problems and Fix
I am having the same problem, misfire every others round
I have the 22 Evolution conversion kit and it does the same thing….have you found a fix for it yet?
Having almost this same problem with my CMMG M4LE with CMMG 22 conversion kit… not sure what the problem is
I had the same issues brought m&p 15-22 mag, it's a lose fit in the mag well and the bolt dont stay back on last shot but no more failures to ejected. also i took off the black coated on the cmmg.
I actually did try that and still did not work.
you can also try buying the cmmg anti jam charging handle
I have a Colt AR and have similar issues you describe in addition two of these, the alpha model, have both failed. One had the seam split in the forward casing and the other had part of the rail break off. They replaced the first one and I am trying to get the second replaced now. I also have a hard time removing it from the bolt chamber after extensive use. I would love to try one of the more expensive brass and stainless models over the anodized one. Tried variety of ammo also.
Most likely the extractor and ejector combo.
I tried blazer as well and the Aguila high velocity stuff. None of it seemed to work. I'm pretty sure it's the kit.
You may need different ammo. CCI chambers VERY hard in most guns. My Anschutz target rifle (1914) HATES cci. I have to jam it in before I have to close the bolt or it will not chamber. elly or eelly club chambers fine though.
do what this guy did. Looks like you have a piston ar.

I don't think so cause it happened on three different mags and two of them were brand new.
Bad mag?
Is yours an older model? I think the new EVO model is better least that's what I hear. I wouldn't even mind that much if I had to use specific ammo since 22lr is so cheap, but this thing wasn't eating anything.
I've had massive problems with mine as well, to the point where it jams like that every other round. It seems to like federal bulk pack .22
Right?! haha
They do have a 22lr AK, but I'm not that interested.
Least my arm won't jam!
wait, thats not suppose to happen? haha, you could always just throw the rounds down range, just chuck the bullet at some dudes head…super affective
yup i can see hows that a problem lol
Well that's unfortunate. I never picked up the conversion kit for mine when I had it, but I did end up buying a .22 AR-15 for plinking. My best idea would be to clean everything again and lube it up.. :/
