I just wanted to show how similar the 2 makes of conversion kits are. I have not seen a video that shows the difference between the 2 conversion bolts. These may very well be made by the same company. Most of the different brands of AR15 receivers are made by a handful of companies that spent the million plus dollars on the 3 axis CNC machine, so it’s probably the same story with this conversion bolt.

So…SO…out of date….should be removed…..a 6 year old review….someone take responsibility fo this miss leading crap……..
In a Ruger MPR that runs an 18” 1:8 barrel and Rifle length Gas system. Will these kits work fine, and will the .22lr round stabilize? Sorry, still learning.
JUST GET A DEDICATED UPPER. or the parkerised kit. shiney doesn't make it better.
Do they both shoot and function well and what is the price difference. Thank for posting but please be better prepared ie have tools ready and know what's up, there is nothing more irritating then "I think" or "Maybe" all through a video !
Think he's got it backwards, the cmmg is the stainless one. the other is cheaper every where I've looked.
thanks good info
What a waste of time
very nice conversion kit.. how can i avail it, how much is the price?
wish you would have showed the difference and then shot both to see the head to head if any had hick up's
Thanks!!! good video
Wally Marcantoni, It's ok. It's probably just a junk unit and given that when they "repaired" it, they were flooded with people from the gun ban scare, they didn't give it much attention. That said, I'll never buy another one of their products again because of the way this thing fails and because they sent it back to me in non working condition, with a huge spring and told me to cut the spring down to the right size, but couldn't tell me what length the spring should be. It was the most unprofessional and incompetent experience I've ever had with any business, so I'll go with a CMMG.
Sorry you had problems with the Spikes conversion kit. I have had zero issues with my Spikes conversion kit. I have shots hundreds of rounds with it and cant complaint. Could it have been issues with the rounds brand you used. Any way thanks for the video. Good information
Thanks for the comparison. Getting a Bravo in a week or so.
Will these work in .223 wylde chamber ? (Works equally well with 223. and 5.56 in general).
I like the Spikes o-ring design that should definitely improve accuracy by reducing the wobble in the chamber. I haven't looked into it yet, but CMMG might have already picked up on the design by now.
No. It will only work in barrels marked .223 or 5.56
Do you think it will work in 300 black out or 5.45 NATO the 556 are very. Close. In spec
Sometimes .22s will do that, where they fail to extract when you manually cycle the action. They should eject when you manually cycle the action, but in most cases, this will not affect the function of the gun/kit. The extractor plus the pressure from the blow-back of the round firing will usually help with ejection. Making sure the chamber is clean and even polishing the chamber can help with the problem you're having. Possibly a new extractor if it's worn, might also help. I hope that helps!
wondering if you can help me out I have a target master 22lr conv kit . I dont use it much . I was curious with your kit if you have a live round in the chamber and pull back the charging handle does it extract the round. My kit does not allow this and was wondering if thats normal or maybe the extractor is weak. it extracts when fired just not in the case of testing a full mags and pulling the charging handle to like empty a mag hope I got my point across . Stevo
What advertisement was it?
Sorry lolling at the advertisement
Hahaa
I would recommend the CMMG kit. Spikes is probably fine too but mine was out of spec and had to be replaced. As far as leading goes, I am not sure I even know what that is. I clean the barrel after every time I shoot. If there is lead built up in the barrel then I either get it all out when brushing it or I don't notice it in there. I have a rifle that I have been using a 22 kit in for 15 years and it is still accurate as it ever was.
Would you recommend it cmmg 22 lr kit ? Any leading in your barrel ?
I have had two of these, the alpha model, and both failed. One had the seam split in the forward casing and the other had part of the rail break off. They replaced the first one and I am trying to get the second replaced now. I also have a hard time removing it from the bolt chamber after extensive use. I would love to try one of the more expensive brass and stainless models over the anodized one.
They're real accurate.
