If you spend a lot of time behind a 300BLK gun, you know that the subsonics are where its at with a suppressor. Those subsonics are pretty heavy and don’t last long once they are in flight. Usually people with just put a reddot on the thing and call it a day. Today we look at the Nikon P223 as a viable alternative with some magnification

  1. I put the Leupold vx-3i 2.5-8×36 on one and a Leupold vx-r 2-7×33 on the other. Purchased a Nikon for my .223 it’s like a 4-18 or something the thing sucks critical eye relieve no field of view glass quality is wal-mart level, the only thing good is the turrets track well and it’s spot on for bullet drop to 250yards haven’t tried it to 600 glass quality not good enough.
    I’ll stick to Leupold

  2. 300 rds of .223 and my p223 has spit the o ring out on front glass. lost zero before that, probably related. keep your receipt AND warranty card will need BOTH for warranty. tricky nikon, probably saves them money tho

  3. Just ordered this scope. Grabbed one off Ebay for $100 new. Not too worried if it doesn't turn out to be my best purchase. So, exposed turrets is causing some heartburn I see from comments. Well, it is kinda nice when one pulls the trigger and the shot placement resembles remotely what was done at the range. This scope comes with a Zero Reset feature. Dial in your shots at the range, Zero the turrets. Protect the turrets somehow (think outside the box) and try to remember you zeroed the turrets and if they moved when you get to the field…put them back to zero. Deal with it and share some Venison pics.

  4. i have this scope. great range gun. bad scope for hunting or bush wacking. the turrents doesnt have a lock or a cover. by the time i finished a 1 mile hike, the elevation was 3moa up and about 2moa left windage.

  5. The exposed turret caps will change zero when inserted or withdrawn from a rifle case or if the rifle is slid across a vehicle seat.  I own three and I am disappointed with these scopes turrets, otherwise the scope is good.  If the turrets won't stay put it comes off and gets sold.

  6. Thanks for the info! I have two 300 blackout rifles! one will be my hunter the other will be suppressed.(if I ever get the paperwork back, it's going on six months) I'm looking for a optic for that rifle. I will check out the Nikon! thanks!
