  1. You have to get past 500 yards before the .224 Val even catches the 6.5 Grendel in almost every area that counts. I’m not shooting past 300 yards so the .224val isn’t really that appealing. If I wanted to shoot 1000yards it would be from an ar 10. .224val makes no sense

  2. Was really hoping to see the heavy bullet Gel tests. We have all see varmint bullet Gel tests but these heavy bullets are new with stuff all Gel tests to see. Damn shame in my opinion and missed the real potential of this video. We are craving heavy 224 bullet tests! Big deal about the 60gr… waste of time

  3. First, thanks for the videos, I love arfcom.
I have not ran the numbers to compare 5.56, 6.5 Grendel, or the other less common hot ar variants, but I wasn’t that impressed. For the money why bother. If you want long range, why not go ar10 with a 6 or 6.5? I load my 5.56 75 gr bullets around 2500fps out of a 16” barrel and could go faster (no pressure signs, but at a good accuracy node). 8” more barrel, more expensive to shoot, just to play where the big boys do? I’d rather have a 6mm creedmoor; .243win, .260rem, or 6.5 creedmoor than trying to get an ar15 into what is best suited to an ar10. Even better, get a rpr, why bother with a semi auto trying to shoot 1000 yds. I get long and heavy for caliber projectiles, but why keep trying to stuff them into the constraints of an ar15 magazine. I can see it if someone is in the “more money than brains club”, but why keep making new fad calibers. Some are ok, but why keep chasing the latest greatest. Get what works best for your application, don’t buy into their marketing hype if you aren’t going to use it. There are already so many niche calibers out there, each trying to outdo the other.
