Brand new TLR-7, light flickers on slide release and dry firing. Mounted on my Glock 30S. Serial number 01337x, made on 2/18/18. Contacting Streamlight regarding issue, will update where it goes.

-Filled out Service Request on Streamlight’s website. Followed up with a call to technical support, who transferred me to the Service Manager’s extension. Very nice people that I talked to, and the rep that transferred me said if I get a voicemail, just leave info and he will make sure he checks it.

-Received a call back from Mark. Very nice guy. Explained that the flicker is from anti-bounce software, which keeps the light from shutting off/switching modes during movement. Said that they are looking to try to put out an upgraded part that would be user switchable. Doing that to try and make the upgrade easier. Light is good to go as it sits (with muzzle flash, likely wouldn’t notice it during firing), but put me on a list of people to get back to when the upgrade begins. He estimates the end of this week, but possibly the beginning of next week. Will reach out when ready.

-Mark called me today, confirmed that the new switch housings are being shipped. Had me send him an email with my info to get it shipped out.

-Received the upgrade while out of town, but also had a follow-up from Mark the day before, who said to reach out if there are any problems.

The upgrade is a complete light assembly, which is identical to the original (markings). Internal changes, as the flicker is gone during dry-fire. Still present when I let the slide go home. Believe that goes with the anti-bounce software, which will also occur while firing.

  1. Came here to see if I wasn't the only one. Thing is, it only does it sometimes.

I'm sure it's a non-issue when actually shooting, but it is a little disconcerting in terms of reliability; my other streamlights never had this issue.

  2. Good stuff dude, I thought I was going crazy when I did the exact same thing to my TLR-7 and got the same flicker. I hear stream light is going to be coming out with a new software update in a couple weeks?
