In this video we take our entry level AR-15 built from a CMMG Mk4LE parts kit out to the range to do some practical accuracy testing out to 300 yards. We use nothing more than the Magpul MBUS rear backup sight and standard front sight base that comes stock on this setup and a 50 yard battle sight zero. Stay tuned as we will be upgrading this rifle with a new trigger, free float rail and optic and see exactly which upgrades provide the best improvements in accuracy individually and collectively in future videos. As always, much more on the way.

Thanks for the video. I am thinking an AR for replacement, moving from a FAL AR as a replacement the direct impingement gases are not real southpaw friendly. I want to learn a bit more about the platform.

Can't really judge the accuracy of a rifle without trying different ammo loads. I have two bolt 223's and they both shot 1-1.5" at 100m with the first factory ammo I got. Started handloading and got 3 shots in the same hole at 100m multiple times with both of them in perfect conditions. Also found some factory ammo that shot 1/2" consistently. If I'd just used the first ammo I found I would have said the gun was innacurate, but like I said the ammo is most important
Well if you zeroed it then you can hit stuff with it. Sure, optics are nice, but there's nothing wrong with the standard AR-15 peep sights, either. They're fine up to 500 yards.
I'm not very good but the best group I ever shot was with my Ruger 556. I was shocked because I've never been that accurate.
Try and shoot at 500 yards iron sights.

For real practical accuracy I say 350 and in is where you can constantly hit comfortably
