  1. Many people keep complaining about the quality of the Remington made Marlins. I have on built a couple years ago and it works very well. It was a little stiff. But several rounds took care of that I have no complaints. A really fun gun to shoot

  2. I see problems with the functioning of this rifle. Remington bought and owns Marlin and the quality has gown down drastically. Rounds not feeding or ejecting properly. Should be flawless in a lever-action. I love this gun but would buy a pre-2010 rifle or take a new one straight to a Real Gunsmith immediately to fix numberous flaws.

  3. Thanks to Jurassic World, Kingsman 2 and Wind River…the SBL is now a $1000 to $1200 rifle. I'm glad I bought mine back in 2014 when they were $800 and some change !! That said, I still won't sell mine…even if I can make a few hundred in profit. It's a keeper.

  4. Can someone with my knowledge explain is this a DMR? Just watched Wind River where he uses a Marlin 1895SBL and it was an awesome scene. Do you use this for sheer put down power and what other weapons are considered for this stopping power?

  5. thanks for the vid. I just bought a model 1895 and was thinking about putting a similar optic on it for deer hunting. do u recommend, or should i get a scope? all of my shots are within 100 yards , anything further than that I use a bolt action

  6. Curious as to the distance your shooting at with that Eotech… looks to be about 50 yards, bot don't want to guess. And if it is, have you tried it at any further distances? Thinking that this would make a great hog gun/set-up if you ran into a bunch of scattering pigs….

  7. Added a silver Leupold 3-9×40 scope to look closer to the movie rifle. Problem was the loading gate, way too stiff, scraped bark off my thumb. My armorer talked to Marlin and he relaxed the spring. Night and day difference, loads like melted butter. This rifle is not for everyone. Requires some skill to manage recoil. 1" 1/2 at 50yds, 2" at 100 using 300 or 410 grain factory rounds. Love it!
