Some of you aren't to bright. If he removes the FSB to install the hand guard he wouldn't need a TWO PIECE free float hand guard, he could just use a regular one piece. MI's website specifically says to cut the delta ring off to install; that's the point of a two piece free float hand guard. Cutting of the delta ring has no impact on the barrel nut as long as you don't cut into the barrel nut.
Old product. Newer hand guards out there.
Lookin' great!
I've been gunsmithing since 2013, anybody who is mechanically inclined and has a little knowledge about machine shop work or metal work will know this is okay. If not a single one of you guys read the video description and commented anyway, you've shown a severe lack of situational awareness and a large amount of laziness. Those traits aren't good in gun owners. Shape up or shut up and keep learning.
Thanks for the video. I was looking for a two-piece free float hand guard to replace the one on a current AR-15 without having to remove the barrel nut. I've replaced barrels before, but I don't want to do a complete tear down if I don't have to.
Question. How is the stability of this rail system?
The reason is because I'm currently running a smith and Wesson psx witch a troy quad rail (piston). I like the rail but it is not firm, the rail shakes a bit.
I have a DBAL A3, therefore, in long distance shooting since the rail shakes it can affect my point of aim when utilizing the Dbal.
I want a rail that's firm and won't move as much as the troy. Thanks
need to see what it looks like up close
If I have a carbine gas-tube and rail and I want to change it to a 15 inch Midwest m-lock. Would you guys recommend changing the tube to a mid-gas tube?
just leave the old end cap ratteling on the end. lame
Great video! By the way you resemble Major Dad!
I read many negative comments, has the Rifle had any issues since the change of handguard? Did any of the process cause any type issue? I say work with what you have!
Just sasw an M-lok version of this on their website! Will definitely be ordering soon
why not take out the gas tube before cutting off the Delta ring? Also why no more profile gas block?
Idiocracy.
was anyone else blowing off the chips lmao
Cutting parts off guns to avoid proper procedure? Not a good idea. With respect, learn how to properly remove the barrel.
l like midwest rails but they are a lil proud of their products, not honestly worth the asking price, ive has 20 ebay rails with tougher finishes than were just as sturdy. but this rail is a dream come true for guys like me who like the 14.5" barrels. its nice to have a free float rail that does not require removing the pinned flash hider. that being said its still not worth the $150 price tag. only reason i bought it was due to that pinned flash hider. its nice, works great and will hold zero if you like forward mounted reflex sights but still over priced for the quality.
Grip >Push Down = REMOVAL OF A DELTA
you must live in California bc this isn't how iv ever seen a Delta moved or removed. wow.so u spent what on that extra ring… I am very familiar with MWI iv never saw a Dremal on anything. Midwest I'm sure is crying. ……
