Read me: In this video I review the Surefire X300 Ultra and Streamlight TLR-1HL side by side. This video starts off with a live fire demonstration and then halfway through the video (@6:38) switches to a up-close table top review on each individual light.

I was expecting an actual review. Ugh.
Surefire has a longer throw and a tighter beam. Streamlight has more spill. Both are good for different scenarios.
Share fire has not customer service and if they do it's sum guy that works for a hour a week and only respond to the distributers and not civilian customers.
Bad ass review, i made up my mind between the two thank you. Newest subscriber thanks man!
I've owned and carried the TLR-1s & HL. I made the switch to streamlight from my dept. issued xiphos that I had nothing but, problems with. Now, I'm considering the X300 simply because, I've never owned one. Should I or just stick with the TLR?
the TLR-1-HL built after 09/01/2015 is a 800 Lumen light. some are still shipped in the 630 Lumen package. If the serial number is after 177,890 it is 800 Lumens.
I bought a TLR-1.
I fired about 1,000 rounds with it on my M&P 9.
I took it off to duracoat it.
While it was sitting on a counter, it blew apart into several pieces.
I now have to wait "4-6 weeks" for their warranty department to get back to me. So I can't shoot competition for 4-6 weeks. Not happening. I can't trust the light and that warranty program is pathetic. Fuck streamlight. I had a custom holster made for the pistol with this light and it's trash now.
I like the streamlight and surefire brands.
As far as durability is concerned surefire has it.
The first initial test confirmed, TLR1HL is a lot brighter. Thanks for making this video.
With the prices, you can't go wrong with a TLR1. Amazon had a HL for 96 dollars on sale. Hard pressed to get a x300 for over double the price.
The switch feels so vague and stiff on the surefire x300-u. I sent it back and picked up a TLR-1 HL.
Bad ass intro!
Does either fit the USP without an adapter?
Will they fit a short rail like the M&P 9C?
Does the Osprey interfere with the beam or does the beam reflect off of the Osprey?
Awesome reviews!
Great review, thanks for shining some light on the topic. Love bad puns.
Very Nice video.. Thank you!. I'm glad i own the regular Streamlight TLR1 and TLR-HL.
Great video comparison, but I think you guys spent way too long doing the comparisons with the suppressors. Not very many people have suppressors and even if they do, they don't carry them with a light attached. Your time (and mine) could've been much better spent showing the comparisons without the can and devote just a little to shooting it with the can. Suppressors are cool toys, but only a very small percentage of handgun shooters have them. Keep that in mind.
I have about 4 TLR-1's (including the HL) and for what you get and what you pay, they can't be beaten by Surefire.
Interesting, my x300u does not fit on the GGG adaptor for the USP. When I did "force fit it" I broke the actual rail on the light!? GGG told me this rail adaptor is not made for the surefire products? But looks like you were able to get it on there. The difference is I have the Glock key on the surefire…. I guess I should try to change it to the universal key and try that?
Nice review, I own both and I like TLR-HL for inside and Surefire X-300 for outside shooting.
I have used both brands a lot. Now I only have Surefire lights. They just hold up better in the long run.
Great review, solid lights. LOL at out take
Thats good stuff, love the out take. Im also happy with my choice to go with a streamlight tlr1-hl, very good weapon light.
