  1. Very nice comparison. I knew the the YHM was gonna have a bad frp. But had no clue it was gonna be so close to the Tirant.

    I have an AAC eco9. Its kind of a hybrid.

    Old gen Evolution9 = 7 old gen evolution9 baffles
    Eco9 = 8 old gen evolution9 baffles
    New Evolution9 = 8 new gen evolution9 baffles
    Tirant9 = 8 Tirant baffles

    My eco9 has been changed to 9 of the new gen evolution9 baffles instead of the 8 old gen evolution9 baffles they originally come with. I'd really like to see how it stands up to a tirant9 now.

  2. I thought the YHM Cobra was pretty cool before they were out. I really wanted one. The TiRant came out I wanted that one. Then Osprey. When will money come and just get one of each….. sigh.

  3. That's pretty much where my SOT's gun has wear. Overall it has held up well. Cerakote is a good compromise between getting a variety of colors where needed/wanted but still pretty good wear resistance.

  4. Fair enough. One of the range employees has a 1911 Carry Scorpion and the only issues he's had, after a long time and thousands of draws, is some wear on hard angles of the slide where there is contact with his holster. So I'm optimistic.You're definitely right though, some finishes are better. I think it's because cerakote, duracoat, etc. do not have a chemical reaction with the metal like Nitron or tennifer. Of course, those chemical reaction coatings don't come in colors like cerakote does.

  5. Well, mine has a grand total of like 5 rounds on it, so I don't have personal experience with the cerakote. My dealer's scorpion seems to have held up pretty well, it has some holster wear and whatnot. I don't think it's as durable as tennifer or other salt-bath nitriding coatings, but it's better than bluing and many other coatings.

  6. Interesting video. Found the link on the forum. I'm sorry to hear about the extractor. IMO Sig has great customer service. I have a 226 Scorpion on order right now (in stock, not shipped yet due to explosion in demand). Fingers are crossed that I won't get a lemon! How has the cerakote on yours held up?
