Zies optics are better in low light and (clarity) better than 1800 $ sig saur or ANY other brand had 3×9 conquest and it was off the chain in quality and durability even compared to high priced brands…..
Sorry to see, in cameras "Nikon" use to stands for quality. But seen a lots of reviews here on youtube, with same malfunction on this Nikon scopes, even after it comes back from guarantee repair, no it rather be an Vortex scope after this, thnx for a good review and best regards from Sweden
I have several Prostaff scopes and no O Ring problems. I think you might just be unlucky. I agree the glass is clear far beyond the price point. The Monarch Binoc's I took to Africa stacked up with Leica, Zeiss etc for way less money.
I own the same scope ive owned it for three years and no issues with the O ring yet knock on wood
That sucks !!! i have 2 buckmaster 3-9×40 no o ring problem and funney thing is its a cheaper version/ model of nikon….
Nikon seems to have cut back on quality control. I had a similar experience with my Nikon Buckmaster II 3×9 mounted on my S&W M&P15 Sport II. After maybe 300 to 400 rounds the crosshairs came lose inside the scope. I sent it in and they sent me a new one which is working, so far.
Yes, Nikon makes terrific optics with great clarity. I have binoculars, a spotting scope, and a camera, all Nikons. But quality failures on their riflescopes is a serious problem. I'm not at all sure if I would by another from them.
I used to be a Nikon customer but not anymore
Sure took a long time to get to the point.
What's the update one year later? Did they ever fix it…again? Or did you go with something else altogether?
Stick with Vortex. Their VIP warranty is the best that any manufacturers can offer.
Wow. good to know!
Hrmph.

replacement means not used, dink
Please at-least tell me if your putting it on a rimfire?!?!
good job Nikon
For the money I don't think you can go wrong with the Prostaff. And it looks like awesome customer service.
just when you think you have a deadly sharp knife, you encounter the nasty plastic and tape that laughs at your knifes. it didnt take this video for me to believe in Nikon, they do good work with optics.
I had a good experience with kershaw. Went in for speed safe repair, came back sharp and and replaced pocket clip (I did not request this, but needed). Only downside was it took about 5 weeks.
nice to see Nikon standing behind the scope, It is my #1 recommendation for the best bang for your buck scope
