Trijicon MRO Red DOT Sight Review & Unboxing-Compare EOTech & Aim Point-In this free video I review and unbox a brand new Trijicon MRO red dot sight. I also purchased a quick detach system for the MRO & go over that. After unboxing the sight, I mount it to my Colt AR-15 rifle and show you how the system goes together.

TRIJICON MRO RED DOT SIGHT

LARUE TACTICAL QUICK DETACH FOR MRO:

Many of us law abiding bikers train with and carry firearms, so I like to do these videos when I get a chance, aside from our regular motorcycle related videos.

I have run an EOTech 512 on my rifle for many years and it’s a solid red dot sight. However, it’s bulky and uses double “A” batteries that drain often. In addition, the EOTech goes off after 8 hour and needs to be turned back on. I need a red dot sight to stay on at all times like the MRO does. Also, my opinion is that the red circle around the red dot on the EOTech washes out a target when shooting at longer distances. I wanted a sight with only a single red dot.

I don’t change things often on my AR-15, but after I learned of the MRO and its reasonable price point, I had to give it a shot. The Trijicon MRO offers everything many of the Aimpoint red dot sights do and more in my opinion. Aimpoints are also much more expensive than the MRO.

The MRO’s 2.0 MOA red dot stays on up to 5 years on one CR2032 Lithium Battery. It has a wide objective field of view and the red dots intensity dial is on top and can be operated by either hand. The Trijicon MRO is a solid sight and small in size. I fell in love with this site after shooting at the range with it.

  1. nice lens covers on the Eotech there's not a thing wrong with the 512 sight I own one and its a good one the only people that had serious issues was the military banging them on hummers and their field abuse and if SHTF the battery's will be more aviable

  2. Wanted to thank you for this review. I had been shopping around for an MRO for a couple weeks now and then watched your review the other night and had to check out the deal you got from LaRue. Long story short placed my order right after watching your review, great deal from them
And great customer service so far. Very informative review, you covered everything I wanted to know, especially the eotech/mro comparison.
    Thanks again man!

  3. This channel is by far my favorite. Harleys, ARS, and glocks. 3 of my favorite things! I used to have an eotech but didn't like it and got an aimpoint and love it. My aimpoint has been on for about 1.5 year and still going strong without batteries going dead. Thanks again for useful education info. Cheers!

  4. Nice review, just sent my eotech (EXPS 2-0) out for the refund (only found out a few days ago they had a massive recall…. yes, news travels slowly to me :-)) and am looking at the Trijicon MRO as well. Are you by chance shooting at the range just outside Moxee? I've been there twice, both times in November/December, for some cold shooting. Nice range though.

  5. I have been looking at getting the same setup. May I ask your personal opinion on the Larue release lever and if it gets in the way at all? Do you think it could cause problems if it was mounted above the ejection port? Thanks!

  6. I have an MRO as well. I found that if you mount it closer to your eye, the wider field of view is being used to its fullest potential. Worth a try, but it's also personal preference as well.

  7. its hard to get the best of both worlds, close quarters and distance. the eotech has a larger window so you can get quicker target acquisition for CQB. For distance you probably are better off with an Acog. great reciew, thanks for the video.
