The olight s1a is 600 lumens and the same price. I prefer rear click buttons and the olight is on the side, but is it really worth having a rear button to sacrifice almost half of the brightness?
14500's work as well and with some modification to remove the spacers, you can use an 18650
Very good vid because I own this same light along with a dozen different models and I did NOT know it would work on AAA's thanks for the info and vid!!!
It would have been nice to see it used at night and see the beam at work
Could anyone tell me if the head screws off this flashlight? Not sure it will fit my light mount if it doesn't. If anyone has a calipers and would measure the diameter of that little strip where the clip goes on to the flashlight body, that would be even better
Supposedly this will run on 16340 and 14500 rechargeable batteries as well they are 3.7 volts
The protac 1L-1aa is actually a quadruple fuel light. It will also run off of a AAAA battery! I have tested all four fuel cells. Cr123a, AA, AAA, and AAAA
I’ve gone back to buying Streamlight only, the other brands all fail. Surefire is out of my budget. Been using Streamlights since 1990 or so in my work, and they hold up.
Wow great light
You can plug in the actual battery to recharge it on the Wowtac A1 (and it's $20). More places to plug in (ex: solar charge) than to get new batteries & there isn't a port on the flashlight to worry about not working. Doesn't have as simple a selector, though. NOTE: The A1S doesn't seem to perform as well in lighting & the bezel might be a point of focus at an airport or something like that.
Black flashlights look cool – until you drop them in the dark – then you have no light, because you can't find it. Unless you're in combat, a brightly colored light is your best bet.
Basically the same as my railmount 1. I ran it for a year with a cr123r or a 14500 with no issues.
