Found out that the firing pin is too short. Range test soon but it seems to be functional now. I had to file down the front of the firing pin as it was sticking way past the body of the bolt.
Thank you for the video! I bought the m4-22 upper about 2 weeks ago. 200+ rounds and no problems. On the 200-250th round I hade very light strikes on ever round and it wasn't my ammo. I switched the FP spring for a weaker/light ball point pen spring and I am no longer getting light strikes . It now goes boom every time… For now…I was about to spend money on a cheap upper. So thank you for your video. You saved me money and frustration!
Extemely cool video, possibliy the only one in English – mine is in Italian. I'm looking for the Sear Trap assembly myself – it's legal down here – any idea where I could find one?
It seems as there has been a few chiappa uppers that are problematic on light strikes. I believe that the firing pin is 10 thousands too short. In one I did make another during pin and made it .010 longer in the strike side. A also have a friend that put a tack weld in the back and ground it down to .010 over the original length. Don't hesitate to call ATI they will help you out. Chiappa won't do as much.
Have you tried firing it without the bolt spring balancing guide yet? I have light primer striking issues before I swapped out firing pin springs but I get a failure to feed about every 5 shots.

I think the Bolt Buffer was left there to give the recoil spring more support, as the other similar bolts have extra length

you know you can just unscrew the slotted nut from the front when you fully depress the bolt against the spring it's not in that tight. 🙂
