Just showing the Nikon P-223 3×32 scope in action, This is a really nice scope at the given price range and will hold a zero well. The only thing I don’t like about it is the “exposed turrets”. The primary disadvantage of exposed turrets is bumping your scope off “zero”, especially in a close-quarters situation where you don’t have time to check your zero each time before pulling the trigger or go to your gun. They also tend to be taller (so they can catch on more objects). For are mid distanced scope the “non exposed” turrets would be perfect, however all that said it’s a must have for your rifle if your looking for something to hunt with or to get you better accuracy over irons or 1x red dots.

  1. No… The first "slash" on the reticle is 400yds, and the 2nd "slash" is supposed to be 600yds, when you are using 55gr bullets and the rifle has been zeroed in at 200yds. Personally, I think they should have used a bullet weight in the mid-60gr's, and also done the zero for 100yds; the first slash for 200yds, 2nd for 300yds, and maybe done a few more slashes…

I guess, they didn't because the trajectory of the 2.23 is pretty flat, and only people in the military, or people shooting prairie dogs are going to go out to 600yds! The scopes they use are just a LITTLE BIT different, too 😛

  2. Used this scope for a good 200 rds of good handloads (mine). My rifle loves the 55gr nos. varmentor over 23 gr of h335. 68 and 75gr hornady bthp match over a similar load. mag primers.

Unless you have REALLY good eyes (read "young") this is a 50 -100 yd scope.

Picture is really clear, holds zero (even with my UTG QD rings). Great scope for what it is. Doing my part, i can get dime size groups but usually 1" is common with this. Bit more power my groups would improve greatly. This is at 50yds. So figure this and the rifle are good for 1-2" moa.

Eyesight may vary. Suggest a bit more power tho.

  3. I believe you are incorrect on the "hash marks" of the p-223 scope, cross hairs is 200 yes. Next mark down is 400, then 600 yes. The p-223 is a bcc 600 yd. scope, read the specs. And instructions.

  4. The crosshair is 200 yds, first hash mark is 400 the next is 600, top of the post is 700. You need to study the information that came with the scope. Your putting out bad information.

  5. Keep your finger off the trigger when your adjusting the lead sled, poor form. The exposed turrets are no more prone to being bumped than any other scope, some 10X the cost, are. It's a great scope and Nikons mounts for it are great too.

  6. I use the Nikon ballistic chart and the reticles are always around 300 500 and 600. I do use 5.56 and .223  with 55gn to 75gn, and not much different. Tell me if I'm doing anything wrong. I don't know how you got your numbers, cause that's way lower than mines.
