Rex is currently testing the Nikon M-223 3-12×44 scope from OpticsPlanet. With the right optic, taking the old Colt to 600 yards is not difficult. A properly configured AR-15 should make the task of medium/long range target engagement relatively easy to accomplish.

SCOPE REVIEW COMING SOON! Stay tuned~!

  1. I have had this scope for a few years and really like it. It has pretty good glass and outclasses many scopes that are more expensive. It is easy to use and it kicks ass!

  2. rex……i have a steiner 5-25×56 msr for my dta srs a1 rig…. im shooting .308.338lm and soon 6.5 crdmoore….. at the moment ive been shooting shelf match ammo…. and just started loading my own, so my question is sense dta is multi cal would it be easy to rezero those ior scopes for changing barrels? those tangent thetas are alot of coin for same glass i have and ive done my homework and those ior scopes glass is second to none…… and not just taking peoples word for it. and where have you found 40mm rings/scope mounts with a taper/canted base? to fit that main tube for ior's. thank you

  3. Hi Rex, I've been a subscriber of yours for a while now due mainly in part to your Sniper 101 series. Nice to see new product reviews especially products that are more affordable than the top tier stuff. In this particular range exercise, why didn't you guys paint the steel in order to give the viewer a better idea of how you were grouping? Just curious, have a great day!

  4. NIKON M-223 vs M-308 , two totally different optical clarity scopes ……The M-223 is very nice in every way , BUT the M-308 is junk, trust me, I had the M-308 on my VERY accurate M1A and it is like looking thru a soda straw and on the highest power setting it looks like Your looking thru a smokey forest fire inversion layer and the eye box is tiny and very sensitive to the slightest off angel eye alignment ……CHEERS.

  5. what  video camera were you using with such a clear image even at 50X mag?     I need one of those.  Thanks.   How many hits did you actually get that day at 612 yards?   Barrel length and twist rate?

  6. This video made me happy. Glad to see Mrs. Rex and Rex together enjoying shooting. I have watched for a while and have been routing for Rex so much. Just cool to see the both of you relaxed and enjoying life.

  7. Got my monarch few years mounted on my 300 win mag with 20moa rail.I reload ammo and for quick shots use bdc,up to 750.For really precise shots use turrets .The farthest I got was 900,could not find longer range in WI

  8. Hi Rex. I found a scope you could review that's similar to this but cheaper. Tract Optics Response AR scope. I got one for my lr308. pretty nice setup for $395. You can "borrow" mine to review
