This is a brief review of the nikon Buckmaster 3-9×40 and all of the features that allow it to be so versatile. These scopes are extremely high value and in my opinion nobody can touch value when it comes to a nikon.

I have the 4-12×40 Buckmaster on my coyote rifle. The first two coyotes take with it were 1) a headshot on a running coyote at 10 yards 2) broadside coyote at 210 yards. They were a double on the same stand so I didn’t have time to adjust my scope from 6x magnification. No issues with clarity or being fuzzy on the near coyote.
My only complaint is the magnification knob is VERY stiff. Especially in cold weather (any temp under 32 degrees F) the knob was EXTREMELY difficult to turn… it took a significant amount of force. I bought some Breakaway Coasters off Amazon to use as a throw lever and it solved the issue for fairly cheap.
That is a great price! I put one on my Savage axis .223 last year and paid $168 at Gander mountain!…this scope is awesome!

I have three prostaffs on deer rifles. I love them!! I also have a pst 6×24 and can't really tell the difference in clarity.
