  1. Within 25 yards, you just put that big ass circle right over the target and shoot.  Don't look at the dot.  I thought about getting the XPS2-2 like yours, but I got the XPS2-0 instead.  One dot and a ring.  Simple.  I thought XPS2-2 would be too busy and my instinct was correct.

  2. Great summary of the Class Action Lawsuit against EOTech and the Court Ordered BuyBack:

The shift was entirely due to the sights. Seriously read the lawsuit, the thermal shift is one worst of several issues (some fixed, some not) that Eotech has been covering up for years.

And no a prolonged period wasn’t required, all it takes is the sight to reach the temperature. The FBI did that legitimate scientific test, as part of their recent optic procurement testing. And they don’t shoot them, they use an optical lab with no rifles involved at all. That test is what started the whole lawsuit when the FBI went to SOCOM and said “Hey guys you should take a look at these result.”

And as mentioned the thermal shift is the cherry on top of a very large cake of lies, and poorly made sights. First there was the battery box issue, that for years Eotech would say “What battery box issue?” even though they were failing left and right in classes, to the point that many instructors learned how to fix them temporarily.

Then there was the fogging issue which again was ignored and covered up until they happened upon a fix making golden sights for an Army optic competition that they lost due to other sight issues. The list goes on, there is a reason why that Eotech has failed every competition where they actually underwent real testing.

And yes you should be pissed, they sold sights that they knowingly knew didn’t meet their specification for years. And could fail in conditions that aren’t uncommon, not the extremes that they make it sound like. IMO businesses that have such poor business practices over a history of years should be run out of business. In fact I think the deception is almost criminal fraud level.

  3. Thank you for taking the time to make this very informative video. I have an Eotech 516 I will probably be returning and purchasing the Aimpoint T2. Because of the lawsuit and because it is much lighter. Good job thank you very much.

  4. If you have a better stance to absorb the small amount of recoil, you would not look like you have to fight the gun and be able to concentrate on putting the bullet where it needs to go more, just a tip, not making fun of you.

  5. About to train with a Aimpoint. We lost out Eotechs. I liked the Eo, get the body in the ring, if you have to do something finer you have the dot. Have an Eo on my personal rifle. We'll see how I like the Aimpont. Heard good things.

  6. I think part of the idea behind the ring is that at close range combat, don't even worry about the dots, just put the circle on the target and start blasting until the target stops being a threat, rather then focusing on what exact part you hit. while giving the dots for those times when at longer range or a specific spot needs to be hit. just my two cents.

I'm going with Eotech only because I like the idea behind the second shield around it.

have you mounted it to your SCAR? If so, how does it stand up to the SCAR's unique recoil?

  7. You forgot to mention that the EOTech has lower tolerances to temperature -40 and above 122 degrees Fahrenheit which can cause + / – 4 MOA shift, meaning the EOTech has a higher potential for failure in temperatures

  8. I've been using an Eotech (2 dots) with 300 Blackout. Zeroed on lower dot at 15 yards (local range) – high at 100 so use lower dot – right on (back to bottom for subsonics at 100). I find that at short range quick shooting – shooting between the dots is very quick. A single dot moves a lot more at 25 yards and is only 1/4", while the two dots are 3" apart at 25 yards and is a lot like an inner ring.

  9. Geez connor its still snowing where you are. Anyway i like the eotech more due to the fact i live in the an urban environment so if shtf or wrol ever happen i need something that gets my target asap plus its optic is bigger. But right now im working on getting an elcan specter for the scar
