Longer barrel. Ain’t no point of owning a so called “rifle” with a snub nose. Defeats a rifle’s ultimate purpose. Is to deliver precise long range results as it always should. Now there are always tricks of a rifleman who can still use a long barrel like a short barrel 😉
The shorter barrels you gotta tune. Swap out the spring or get a H2 or heavier buffer. You are still getting like 2400 FPS. I like my 16 inch but in Michigan you can’t legally ride with a loaded rifle or shotgun so that’s where AR pistols come in.
7.5 on a 556 is always funny for me, a friend of mine did a lot of gel and carcass testing, turns out below about 10in the bullet just punches a hole. No reap tumbling or fragmenting with anything besides m855a1. Going up to an 11.5 made a world of difference. Honestly, if you have a short barrel like that, it should be in 300blk.
Depends on if you’re doing CQB or shooting at the range or if it’s for home self-defense things of that nature I go with a shorter barrel just so you can move around with it easier but open field at range shooting distance I’d go to the long barrel
Upon the firing of the first shot – regardless of where it's from within the sphere of influence – the element of surprise is lost. At this point, the majority of engagements become close-quartered, and the need for maneuverability is deemed paramount. Though both are great, I would have to go with the 7.5".

Just stay with ya 16
Being 6’4 I prefer longer barrels 😂
Pistol inside
Rifle outside 💯🫡🇺🇸

If the barrel gets any shorter, may as well use a pistol,
Depends, am i inside, or outside?
Inside cqb, short barrel all day. Outside, long boy
🔥🔥 14.5
Aks
11.5 inch barrel with a suppressor is what I like but I just use a 16in for my ar because that’s what I used in the army
If I’m running a short barrel 300black if long barrel 556

Short barrel because I can suppress it and get more length
Both gorgeous.
Its simple. I see the hands, hear them talk nonsense. And i dislike

Definitely longer barrel in case you need to reach out and touch something
Since when Mike Tyson had guns?
Why not both?? 😊
Both are nice 🤔
I agree with you on that, 556 was designed for a 20 inch barrel.
12.5 with a mid length gas system so I get the best of both worlds
I replaced my 7in barrel for the 11.5 and i will never look back….its lower recoil and better accuracy
