Offset mounted red dots exist aswell tho. But I get your point.
What happens if you put the magnifier in front of the red dot? Does it still work ok? If so that might help avoid knocking the magnifier with the NVG tubes every time you're aiming.

The rise up magnifier is sick! I got broke version that flips off to the side.
You can always throw a t2 or something on top or the side for the very limited amount of time you’ll be on nods, or get an Elcan with a piggyback. Adds weight, but also adds capability

…new to red dot magnifier….please can anybody help me do you close one eye when using the magnifier part ??? BOTH eyes obviously with the red dot – but what about the Magnifier do you close one eye ?

Just think of how much of this stuff becomes paper weights in a long-term grid down scenario. Build your kits first based on the lowest amount of electronics. Read Ted Koppel's book Ligjts Out. You will be amazed/insulted at how archaic and vulnerable our electrical grid is in the US.
