I get a lot of requests for sea level zoom videos, so being the awesome all obliging person that I am I do like to deliver the goods from time to time.
Auckland’s Hauraki gulf has a handy shipping lane and anchorage bays that makes tracking ships coming into the port quite easy.
Several of those bays also happen to sit right on the #horizon line when looking out from the north shore coast line so you can get some really interesting mirage shots when the conditions are perfect.
This week Nikon Coolpix #P1000 Zoom #test is a sea level ultrazoom out to the Carrier Port Alfred.
Narrow Neck Beach (elevation 1.7Mish, sea level is 0 but you don’t want to look at sand ) – Port Alfred (height 13.8M)
Zoom Distance – 14KM (aprox)

It is very bizarre, I've tested it and all I get is flat, did 10 miles and it lined up flat as a pancake, someone wrote, far more eloquently than I, 'either they are lying about the size of the earth or it's flat' and although my brain is saying it's round, or at least an obloid because that is what I learned but I've never been up to get a full view of the earth, that ISS has always got a full view of the earth, that Van Allen radiation belt, is that natural because of the radiation from the earth poles or is it a cage to keep us going 'out of bounds', I remember my Uncle who was a scientist, very pragmatic, he told me "do not the the 💉, they will start a big media campaign for a slightly modified virus as they will have the news, politicians putting out statements, propaganda etc with even most of them believing their great lies but it will be false, it will be a test run, to check compliance and to let them build up their stock supplies and deployed weaponry, you must not comply with any of their orders…." Earth is not flat. Think for a second. Why would water have an imaginary stop line, and then the boat behind it? Wouldn't the waves continue beyond the boat?

At 14 km their should be about 30 ft of curvature. You shouldn't even be able to see the boat 😂😂😂use the curvature calculator

Ok so for the confused people, the ship is actually below the horizon of the earth but is being refracted over by the atmosphere. You can tell it’s being refracted because of how distorted it is, there is a difference between an object going over the horizon,( it is clear with no distortion ) and being refracted back up over the horizon ( wavy and distorted ) there is an example on google images of oil platforms being refracted and then on a more clear day actually being under the horizon with no distortion.
