  1. Crazy. Thanks for this, ive seen them all my short life and have never really understood what they are for. Always just used a brush followed with the little loopy thing you slot patches into. Def gonna try these out next time, seems like theyll be quite effective

  2. Thanks for sharing. Picked up the tipton set today at cabelas. Also had a guy recommend the dewey one piece rods. Had to get one in .22 cal and one in .30 cal and the same for 2 bore guides. Its pricey but with guns and accesories, you get what you pay for.

  3. good way to lube the barrel after cleaning too. Just lube the back end of the patch and push through once. Barrel is now lubricated without using excess lube with the patch slotted loop attachment. I've always hated having to use excess lube because the patch barely touches the barrel with the slotted loop.

  4. My question is, can you pull it back if you want to? Seems like reversing it might be impossible because there's not enough clearance and if the path jams up in to the jag (trying to reverse it) it would make it impossible to reverse. Just means you need to make sure you have a long enough stick and a way to get the patch off the other end, esp like if you're cleaning a semi-automatic rifle from the muzzle without disassembly.

  5. I’m sticking with my old method of brush soaked in solvent, them i run a patch soaked in CLP, then a few dry patches, then lastly- run the mop. Takes a few more minutes and a few more patches, but it isnt that much more time consuming, and thats what ive always done.
