On Monday, February 9th, the Senate Transportation, Infrastructure, and Public Safety Committee will hold a hearing on Senate Bill 1128, the “Second Amendment Financial Privacy Act.” Please contact members of the committee and urge them to SUPPORT SB 1128 by using the TAKE ACTION button below.
Senate Bill 1128 prohibits the use of firearm-specific Merchant Category Codes that could be used to track lawful firearm and ammunition purchases or create de facto registries of gun owners. The bill also bars financial institutions and payment networks from discriminating against firearm retailers or disclosing transaction data collected in violation of this protection.
