House Bill 1052, formerly House Bill 1221, ensures that antique firearms, including black powder handguns, are treated consistently with federal law by exempting them from background check requirements that apply to modern firearms. HB 1052 has passed committee and now advances to the full Indiana House.
Senate Bill 176 strengthens protections for shooting ranges by prohibiting counties, cities, and towns from adopting zoning, land-use, or permitting requirements that are more restrictive than state law. SB 176 has passed the Senate Committee on Corrections and Criminal Law and now advances to the full Indiana Senate.
