Looking forward to a lot of the new features on the Eotech.
But there also seems to be some red flags with the design – or aspects that may lead you to keep your old one.

Brassfacts Thursday 🎉🎉🎉
Looks dumber. Costs more. Weighs more.
…wtf are they even doing?
All valid concerns
This is my copy and paste comment from their announcement video for anyone wanting a different take – "I don't know why they didn't just fix the regular EXPS3 series by adding a simple shake awake feature and maybe a skeletonized version of the metal cage for the housing to eliminate some weight. It would be easy to create both and for the shake awake you would most likely really only need to reprogram the microprocessor to allow a button press sequence to change it into shake awake mode (in this method of modding it for shake awake the shake awake mode would essentially be constant ON with the endcap being the sensor/switch) and then create an endcap for the battery compartment with a built in vibration sensor and some kind of like 555 timer circuit with a rechargeable coin cell to power the mechanism when off or basically something where it would cut the power to the sight after X amount of time until it sensed movement from the vibration sensor which would reset the timer. The cap of the housing touches the battery terminal and connects it/grounds it to the housing so the new cap switch would just cut power off and on and all that would be needed is to make it stay constantly on within the main housing and allow the cap to be the only switch.
There are obviously other and better ways of making it shake awake but the point is I'm 99% sure it could've been done without any changes to the regular model beyond reprogram and battery cap and worse case maybe a new circuit board or a wire to direct power portions of it etc and I even thought about trying to make my own battery compartment cap portion of the mod but it would be pointless unless I was willing to destroy my EXP3-4 which I would need to be willing to do since it would've required me doing some form of direct wiring since I couldn't reprogram it myself and I wasn't willing to destroy mine in the worst case scenario.
All that is say as long as the new one is just as durable and everything is the same quality as the regular EXPS3s then they deserve props for adding a feature their customers have been asking for for a long time and we shouldn't be discouraging changes especially without thanking them for the good changes we've been begging for, that being said that wheel mechanism seems like a smart design and personally I like it but there's no way in hell that's just as durable as normal EXPS3s because that knob has to be sealed which is a failure point and its also exposed so I could definitely see myself catching it on something hard enough to maybe mess up the seal inside and maybe even rip it off and while I could be wrong about that criticism the thing I know I'm correct about with all this in mind is the $1k price tag is absolutely insane, pay nearly double the money to essentially buy one with a shake awake feature and that feature is the main benefit but you are also paying double to get one with multiple new points of failure and that hasn't had even 3% of the real world testing that the regular EXPS2s and EXPS3s have had over the years in actual combat so yeah maybe show us the internal design around the control wheel and give it out to a bunch of youtubers like Hop and Brassfacts to test out but I have a very strong feeling that not sending this to any youtubers was intentional"
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk, I expect to be nominated for the Nobel Prize for Literature after the book of a comment I just wrote
theory based shitting on stuff is the worst meta of guntube
Me, I love almost everything about it. Ain't nobody saying shake awake was ever a bad feature, not sure what weirdos you ever heard that from.
My ONLY gripe is the lack of shroud. I also agree that it is a glaring omission, as a protective, ablative, shock-absorbing cover. Was also a lot easier to recolor, instead of making everything else some off-color of tan that didn't match.
I also think it looks like a knock-off EOTech, but not because of videos, just all the random Chinese red dots that use similar shapes (sharp corners and the like).
7:07 😝😝😝😝
After watching RGT’s rants, everyone else just seems kind of whiny. That being said, I agree with most of what Brock said here.
Erm
Cool jacket.
I've always wanted a shake awake EOTech but this one looks like dog s*** I'd still buy my exps3 over that
ELCAN hco making a huge comeback i see
It’s ugly and expensive
I saw another video from shot show where the EOTech rep said there’s over a hundred different brightness settings that the “auto” position on the rotary dial has access to, but the rotary dial only has access to 11 of them. It seems like the way they want people to use this optic is fully automated, with the sight set to auto for brightness changes and shake-awake for on and off. Definitely not the biggest fan of the idea, and if the execution isn’t perfect it won’t be a great end user experience either.
@4:00 did you recommend what they don't want to sell or am i drunk on this water
my issue is that i could buy 1000 rounds of 308 instead
Leak out the gas
The price hike for me
I don't know BF… Reference the shroud, it passes drop tests. Reference the knobs, I doubt you can get those to turn without a tool, even if you set out to do it. Reference the aesthetics, Yeah maybe they ripped off their own ripoff, it looks kinda slick. Reference the NV settings, only 4 options… meh. Maybe it's a problem.
Thankfully nobody that matters cares what these geeks think. 😂
Dude nod setting on these optics are kinda dumb imo. Having to cross thresholds from night to man made illuminated areas happen a lot when you’re actually doing things and not a soul on this planet has the time to sit there and fuck around with settings. Especially when you’re tilting your head back to use your naked eyes, I could keep going on. I feel like we have kinda peaked and we truely are entering the area of gimmicks. Weapons are starting to look like mw2 (2022) and mw3 (2023) weapons. Random cuts and angles and gimmicks that just make shit cumbersome for dudes actually kicking doors and doing the thing. And then ontop of that everything is massively expensive for something that again is a gimmick or just makes your weapon more cumbersome like what in the world are we doing lol just my opinion
I’m good with the shake 🫨 awake, rotary controller, and unibody construction.
Price is pretty steep, almost like an Aimpoint, Lol.
